Restriction:  The Lincoln Drive bridge over Reading, Blue Mountain and Northern Railroad is closed until further notice.

PennDOT Engineering District 5 announced today work will begin Monday, April 22, to replace two metal corrugated pipes with a box culvert on Route 339/Rattling Run Road in East Union Township, Schuylkill County.

The project will also include resurfacing the roadway approach areas of the box culvert, new guiderail, and signing upgrades.

Route 339 will be closed and detoured between Route 924 and Brandonville Road/Pole Road while crews replace the pipes. Traffic is being detoured on Brandonville Road/South 4th Street/Main Street, Bridge Street, Ringtown Boulevard and Route 924. Motorists are advised to expect delays and use caution driving through the area. Access to driveways within the project limits will be maintained at all times during construction.

PennDOT Engineering District 5 announced today work is scheduled to resume Sunday (April 7) on a project to improve PA 61 between University Drive and Mill Creek Avenue in North Manheim Township, City of Pottsville, Palo Alto and Schuylkill Haven Boroughs, Schuylkill County.

Work on the project includes roadway milling, roadway base repairs, paving, guide rail updates, Americans with Disabilities Act compliant curb ramps, and new pavement markings.

Motorists should expect nighttime lane restrictions on PA 61 between Mt. Carbon Arch Road and Mall Road from 7:00 PM to 6:00 AM, Sundays through Thursdays.
