scope of this item

[edit]

I think this item in wikidata should be used only for collections of written works, so a collection of minecraft mods or Kanye West's album can't be an instance of anthology (Q105420). This term is not very well defined even in the field of literature, where it originates from, not to speak about software applications and other topics. No one can differentiate between a collection of videogames and an anthology of videogames. Currently it is misused by compilation album (Q222910), video game compilation (Q16070115) and software bundle (Q62651817), probably they shouldn't be a subclasses of anthology.
Right now description of this item is "collection of creative works chosen by the compiler" and I think it should be changed to something like "collection of written works chosen by the compiler" to avoid misuse of this item in instance of (P31) and subclass of (P279) properties of other items.
