Deprecated link
[edit]Is the deprecated link to TV Tropes still needed? I was about to replace it but the proper link is next to it. On most pages, I just replaced them when the old link was there. Is it still needed? 2600:1700:53F0:AD70:992C:D3E9:544:14A7 21:17, 24 March 2021 (UTC)
- Generally there are some advantages in keeping obsolete identifiers: 1) It keeps other persons or bots from readding these 2) If the identifier / link is just obsolete (and has not been wrong in the first place) this is "historical data" somehow (it has been true, when added). They may still be useful for some: There may be data (re)users who still have these old identifiers in their database and need them to match their entries to Wikidata (or update them).

- In the case of TVTropes-Links you don't need to go back and readd the obsolete links with a deprecated rank (at least in my opinion).
