Adding 'instance of': 'determinator for date of periodic occurrence'

[edit]

D2-bot has been adding 'instance of (P31)': 'point in time with respect to recurrent timeframe (Q14795564)' to items for days of the year. I think this works better with 'instance of (P31)": 'calendar date (Q205892)' instead as 'calendar date (Q205892)' has 43 linked wikipedia articles. Could D2-bot change these statements?

I have added the statement 'subclass of (P279)': 'point in time with respect to recurrent timeframe (Q14795564)' to the item for 'calendar date (Q205892)' so this can still be used to define a class for the range of 'day in year for periodic occurrence (P837)'.

I think we also need to add the statements

to every day of the year item. Could D2-bot do this? Filceolaire (talk) 18:47, 3 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

We need to add part of (P361): January (Q108) or relevant month to all these items as well. Can D2-bot do this? Can I help with this?
Meanwhile I'm working on adding properties follows (P155) and followed by (P156) by hand, to link each day with the adjacent days. Filceolaire (talk) 19:07, 3 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I can add the months by bot. If you want to give it a try, you could to it with Wikidata Useful as well. --  Docu  at 19:19, 3 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I've not used Wikidata Useful before. I'll try that out. Thanks. Filceolaire (talk) 17:17, 4 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

determinator for date of periodic occurrence

I saw you have been adding 'instance of (P31)': 'point in time with respect to recurrent timeframe (Q14795564)' to items for days of the year. I think this works better with 'instance of (P31)": 'calendar date (Q205892)' instead as 'calendar date (Q205892)' has 43 linked wikipedia articles.

I have added the statement 'subclass of (P279)': 'point in time with respect to recurrent timeframe (Q14795564)' to the item for 'calendar date (Q205892)' so this can still be used to define a class for the range of 'day in year for periodic occurrence (P837)'.

I think 'instance of (P31)': 'point in time with respect to recurrent timeframe (Q14795564)' should be removed from the items for days of the year. Filceolaire (talk) 18:32, 3 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Interesting idea, but I'm not sure if we mixed the rather technical Q14795564 with Q205892 what this leads to. Is there an issue if we had both on items? --  Docu  at 18:55, 3 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The main issue would be duplication. I have been thinking some more about this - whether 'subclass of' would be more appropriate than 'instance of' and have stopped marking the days up till I get it straight in my head - just give me a few days! Property:P131

[edit]

Hallo, in the past few days, you added Q980 in Property:P131 to some villages in Bavaria. While it is perfectly true that Bavaria is a higher administrative unit, the next unit up the tree would be the respective Landkreis (county), which itself is part of a Regierungsbezirk (district), which then is part of Bavaria. Did you jump the levels intentionally (then it´s ok for me) or was it just a lack of data concerning the Landkreis-affiliation of each village? If it´s the latter, I´d be happy to provide a list for all of the 2000+ villages in Bavaria to you to assist in a finer allocation. Viele Grüße, --Rudolph Buch (talk) 13:25, 6 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

P131 can hold several layers of administrative levels. If you prepare a list with elements like:
Please add property located in the administrative territorial entity (P131) with value Upper Bavaria (Q10562) to en:Category:Upper Bavaria geography stubs
pwb.py claimit P131 Q10562 -cat:"en:Category:Upper Bavaria geography stubs"
I could add these as well. It can work with German Wikipedia categories too. --  Docu  at 17:27, 6 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately, DE-Wikipedia does not (yet?) categorize towns by county or district so this won´t work. All I could offer is a list like de:Liste der Kreiszugehörigkeit bayerischer Gemeinden but that obviously doesn´t fit the bot´s needs at all. Thanks nontheless. --Rudolph Buch (talk) 20:34, 10 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
It should be possible do something with the infobox. When I have some time, I might look into it. --  Docu  at 20:39, 10 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks!

Thanks for getting on to the big, but simple task of adding country to items. Nice to see a bot ploughing through that tedious task.

Perhaps you can do some of these requests? User talk:Legobot/properties.js/requests Some of them are very straight forward category based, and hopefully don't need any complicated error checking. e.g. Alumni of... categories. Danrok (talk) 20:33, 8 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

As you made quite a few, I will try to plow through some of your requests. The bot doesn't do item creation yet though. Further, sometimes it crashes half way through a list. --  Docu  at 21:04, 10 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
