Tracking historic data

[edit]

Dear Faux, from your question here I understand that you are also interested in how to store historic data here on Wikidata. I started a discussion here, and I posted a proposal [1], but this has not led to a conclusion yet. Maybe you would be so kind to also join in the discussion. From the discussion so far, I have come to the conclusion that we really need a qualifier "former" ("ehemalige"), which can be used with any pair of property and value. But since it may take a while before qualifiers become available in the Wikidata software, an interim solution would be nice. Please let me know what your thoughts are on this. Vielen Dank im Voraus, NormanB (talk) 01:03, 18 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello NormanB, thank's for the hint to the discussion.--Faux (talk) 11:16, 19 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Faux, you wrote here that you "generally support the was a property as a interim property". Maybe you can also write this on this page as that is where the voting takes place. Danke vielmals, NormanB (talk) 14:15, 20 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Qualifier "former"

[edit]

Dear Faux, on the 22nd of March you responded to my proposal for the property "was a(n) / war ein(e) / était un(e)" (see here). The proposal didn't get sufficient support and the conclusion was to wait for qualifiers. Now that those have been implemented, I have proposed the creation of a qualifier "former". Would you please be so kind to have a look at this proposal on this page. It's header is "former / ehemalige / ancien(ne) / voormalige". Thanks in advance, NormanB (talk) 22:48, 13 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
