Spanish labels

[edit]

Hi! Please take extra caution when you add labels on Qids pertaining to ancient or medieval authors: most of the time their names are altered and labels from others languages won't give an acceptable Spanish label (e. g. this is German ; this is French). Cheers and happy editing, --Jahl de Vautban (talk) 19:46, 19 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong P31

[edit]

Hi,

I see that you added instance of (P31) = church building (Q16970) on many items. Thanks most of them seem ok, but some where wrong like Q3585567 or Q3585557 (both are Church, not church) or Q3585999 (a time period, maybe a Church lato sensu but clearly not a church). Could you take a look and double you edits?

[WMF Board of Trustees - Call for feedback: Community Board seats] Meetings with the Wikidata community

[edit]

The Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees is organizing a call for feedback about community selection processes between February 1 and March 14. While the Wikimedia Foundation and the movement have grown about five times in the past ten years, the Board’s structure and processes have remained basically the same. As the Board is designed today, we have a problem of capacity, performance, and lack of representation of the movement’s diversity. Our current processes to select individual volunteer and affiliate seats have some limitations. Direct elections tend to favor candidates from the leading language communities, regardless of how relevant their skills and experience might be in serving as a Board member, or contributing to the ability of the Board to perform its specific responsibilities. It is also a fact that the current processes have favored volunteers from North America and Western Europe. In the upcoming months, we need to renew three community seats and appoint three more community members in the new seats. This call for feedback is to see what processes can we all collaboratively design to promote and choose candidates that represent our movement and are prepared with the experience, skills, and insight to perform as trustees?

In this regard, two rounds of feedback meetings are being hosted to collect feedback from the Wikidata community. Two rounds are being hosted with the same agenda, to accomodate people from various time zones across the globe. We will be discussing ideas proposed by the Board and the community to address the above mentioned problems. Please sign-up according to whatever is most comfortable to you. You are welcome to participate in both as well!

Also, please share this with other volunteers who might be interested in this. Let me know if you have any questions. KCVelaga (WMF), 14:33, 21 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

imports of birthdays from polish wikipedia

[edit]

Before importing birthdays from polish wikipedia to football players who allready has birthdays in wikidata, could you please check whether polish wikipedia didn't just get the dates wrong? --Hjart (talk) 08:02, 1 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

please consider adding more precise references to imported data from the Polish language Wikipedia. At least it should include the permanent URL to the exact version or better still the reference that was actually used in the Polish language article e.g this URL in the article mentioned above.

Importing date of death

[edit]

Before importing dates of death from Wikipedia Projects, please make sure to verify their correctness. Sometimes it happens articles are not updated or dates are completely wrong. In this case you'd be better to correct them directly on the Wikipedia Project imported if you manage to. --Mastrocom (talk) 19:15, 11 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

facet of

[edit]

Hi, I don't quite get why you add facet of (P1269) to Education in Africa (Q5340966) (and other similar items for education in country or region (Q64801076). Given that facet is meant to be secondary, I don't think we should add it in addition to another statement expressing a similar relation. --- Jura 13:58, 11 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

sv labels

[edit]

It seems to me that your labels in Swedish are incorrectly cased (Tennis in ..). BTW is "film" correct? Are you sure what you are doing? --- Jura 18:14, 11 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

    • I see the error: it is because of the categories. I correct it

pt labels

[edit]

Can you check? [1] --- Jura 18:15, 11 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

    • I think it's correct

Badminton seasons

[edit]

If possible for you, please revert all time period additions to Badminton Championships. This not a season like in soccer, this is only one weekend. It is sometimes in the first year, sometimes in the second year, thats why it is given as a double year. The bot-supported follow up edits will worsen the things even more. There is mostly no need to add/change things in badminton, if possible exclude it from your additions. Or drop me a line if you plan mass edits. Descriptions in all languages except en would be helpful. --Florentyna (talk) 17:59, 25 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I removed all items. One hint: If exists Property:P585 (point in time), then Property:P2348 (time period) makes no sense. --Florentyna (talk) 04:45, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

19-inch is not 19th-century nor year 19xx

[edit]

19-inch rack (Q431000) is not an instance of events in a specific year or time period (Q18340514). Please recheck the items you performed this change on, as likely there are more items whose names begin with numbers, but which are not related at all to time periods. 192.198.151.53 13:25, 13 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

People: Undo edits

[edit]

Reference: https://editgroups.toolforge.org/b/EG/cd3e21d/

It is not very clear whether you have any replacement item planned for these "undo edits". The summary is not clear for me, since you are simply removing {{Q|Q2472587}} and not adding any new item (or a better item according to you).

Same goes for the previous undo edits. There has been no replacement for the following so far:

Golden Lion

[edit]

Hello! these are two different awards, only their names are the same: Golden Lion (Q55738748), Golden Lion (Q28910585). For example, in 2005 there was no architectural biennial in Venice: en:Annette Messager. I think this can be given to sculptors, but there is little data in the item: Golden Lion (Q28910585). Palotabarát (talk) 10:21, 28 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it is definitely different. Take a look at the two articles: one is for the even and the other for the odd year. Palotabarát (talk) 10:47, 28 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
OK, thanks. OppsMetal (talk) 10:48, 28 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Modelling of awards

[edit]

Hello OppsMetal, it seems that you are changing quite a few award items. Did you already have a look at the model suggested at Wikidata:WikiProject_Award? I won't decide if your model is better or not than the model outlined there, but this model is the consensus (currently). Maybe you discuss it in this project? The issue at hand is the sentence

There are some projects following this model and you are breaking some queries... Kind regards, - Valentina.Anitnelav (talk) 16:56, 28 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello OppsMetal, I'm currently undoing your batches from May 27th and 28th. Sorry for all the pings but it was just too much to do it manually. As already said your model may work, but it has to be discussed (and documented) so that other people and projects may follow it. - Valentina.Anitnelav (talk) 11:26, 8 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Cycling teams

[edit]

Why do you specify several countries at the same time for a team season? A team represents only one country during one season. Examples: Q100261089, Q13573623, Q2610955. — GAN (talk) 06:53, 31 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

litterature awards etc

[edit]

Your changes to literary prize of the Limfjord region (Q62681420) and others does not appear right to me. It's not a subclass. Did you discuss these changes anywhere? --Hjart (talk) 17:09, 4 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

additionally the changes you made in the batch including [2] were wrong. please stop making these changes and address concerns here. BrokenSegue (talk) 05:29, 6 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
please revert all of the edits in batch 1622897180509. they introduced many many constraint violations. BrokenSegue (talk) 05:37, 6 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked from editing the main namespace

[edit]

Hey OppsMetal, following a request on the Administrators' noticeboard in Special:Diff/1436494152, I have blocked you from editing the main namespace of Wikidata. You are expected to take part in discussions regarding your editing raised on your user talk page, which you repeatedly failed to do. You can ask for unblock if you settle the open discussions on this talk page. —MisterSynergy (talk) 22:08, 6 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
