Olisitko kiinnostunut osallistumaan Wikimedia Suomen järjestämään Wikidataan perehdyttävään projektiin. Pyydämme osallistujiksi wikipedistejä sekä organisaatioita, joiden kanssa opettelemme yhdessä, heidän aineistoillaan. Järjestämme lokakuun alussa Helsingissä työpajapäivän, jossa esitellään Wikidataa sekä suomeksi että englanniksi. Puhujat ja paikka varmistuvat vähitellen, päivämäärä on 2.10.2015. Valmistelemme myös online-opiskelupakettia suomeksi. Olisi hienoa saada mukaan Wikidataa aktiivisesti muokkaavia tilaisuuteen tai opastamaan/oppimaan online. Kirjoitan tänne metamietteitä koskien Flow-järjestelmää. Se perustuu siihen, että vanhempia keskusteluja voi selata aiheiden otsikoiden mukaan (browse topics), jolloin otsikon merkitys korostuu, vähän samaan tapaan kuin perinteisellä keskustelusivulla. Tästä viestistä, jonka otsikko ei vastaa ollenkaan sen sisältöä, huomaa, miten selaaminen hankaloituu, kun viestin sisältöä pitäisi arvata ainoastaan tämänkaltaisten otsikoiden perusteella.

I think it's better to set some rules about this. Because I think albums (studio, live, compilation, etc.) and EPs are different types of a record, not the same.

2) Talk:Q21130185>: Suomen entisen kunnan kylä ei ole entinen tai historiallinen hallinnollinen alue (poislukien luovutetut alueet, jossa se on historiallinen hallinnollinen alue). Tuohon ykköseen: Lisäsit sinne, että se "sijaitsee hallinnollisessa yksikössä": Lieto ja Pöytyä. On myös "osa kohdetta", johon kai sopisi se Hämeen Härkätie?

Luulin lisänneeni sen, mutta oli näköjään jäänyt vahingossa tallentamatta. Tallensin nyt. Mutta epätarkkuudeksi siis jää tässä tapauksessa että osa tiestä on osa kohdetta Hämeen Härkätie ja osa tiestä ei ole.

Tämä taisi jo ainakin osittain selvitä tuossa toisessa keskustelussa, johon jo e4hditkin osallistua. - Paitsi että jos entisten kuntien wikidata-attribuuteissa on jotain säädettävää, niin se voi vaatia säätöä, mutta kun en ehdi nyt perehtyä wikidatan systeemeihin tältä osin, niin en taida pysrtyä kommentoimaan. Kuitenkin entiset bkunnat Suomessa hyvin rinnastuvat entisiin kuntiin ruotsissa niin kuin tuolla jo sanoinkin, niin silloin niihin vertaamalla niitä on luultavasti helppo käsitellä järkevästi ja saada niiden mer5kitys hahmotetuksi ainakin aihetta tunteville ruotsalaisille käyttäjille. --Urjanhai (talk) 17:33, 9 July 2017 (UTC)

Hi Stryn. What about telling your bot to add descriptions in languages other than Finnish, too? They may be taken from chemical compound (Q11173).

It's possible, but I can only add one description in one edit, not like this bot, as I'm using the QuickStatements, and he Python or something that I don't know.

In this case, it might be better to have this task done by Emijrpbot.

He already did this one, but for some reason didn't add Finnish descriptions (see example). And everyone can add as many descriptions/labels/statements at once as they can. It's not forbidden to add descriptions only for one language.

I do surely know this, but there are good reasons not to. To keep my watchlist readable, I use https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spezial:Beobachtungsliste?lifilterexpr=StrynBot&lifilterinv=1 (having activated MediaWiki:Gadget-rightsfilter.js).

Well, the best solution would be that in de.wikipedia watchlist no changes to labels or descriptions other than in German would be shown. They are of no interest for de.wikipedia. The same certainly applies for fi.wikipedia etc.

Well, my bot is not the only bot or user editing Wikidata items. You can show Wikidata edits, but hide bots then by using &hidebots=1. Also my own watchlist on fiwiki is always full of Wikidata edits, even if they are not edits made by my bot.

Tein jotain. Kas miten moni asia saadaan toimimattomaksi vain sillä, että käyttöliittymän toimintaa epäloogistetaan. Kun menin merge-liittymään, täytin kentät oikein ja sitten lopuksi klikkasin laatikon alaosassa olevaa nappulaa. Sitten tuli viesti, että prosessi on käynnissä. Mitään ei kuitenkaan tapahtunut. Sitten kävin lukemassa nappulan tekstin, ja se on "postpone". Jos haluaa käynnistää prosessin, merge-nappula onkin ylälaidassa. It's impossible to make an image with all the winners, it would be too big and we don't have all the images required.

Well, if there is not photo of all the winners let it be without a photo on Wikidata. If you want a photo to the Romanian article, you can always add it locally there.

At Sao Paolo I completely agree with the removal of the flag, since it's a duplicate. It would be perfect if you could explain to me with what kind of images should I replace those who don't comply to your local Wiki.

In Q769746 for example, there is the cup and one of the winners. I don't know what alternative can be included.

But it's wrong, we have got a lot of complaints on the Finnish Wikipedia about wrong photos that appears automatically now on Wikipedia.

Well, this is an oddity that Wikidata should explain. Is there any policy regarding what king of images can be included and which cannot be included? I would comply to it.

We don't have such a policy as far as I know, but IMO images should always be directly related to the subject of the Wikidata item, not something closely related to the subject. You can of course start a discussion about this on the project chat if you disagree with my removals.

Another thing which I think is fine is using an image of an singer while performing a specific song, used for articles about songs. Some of the images also have the costumes which are used in the video clip of the song or on the cover, because there is no way you can use the cover of the song since it's copyrighted.

I'll start a discussion at the village pump.

Well, list here what you want to remove so I could refer this discusion to my local village pump and Wikidata village pump and eventually discuss some of them.

At discogaphies you can't use let's say, all the covers of the albums of a singer or band as the images would be under copyright, so the only option left would be an image with a singer or one with, let's say, a golden or platinum record.

I don't have lists of images that should be removed. But well, in the film items some random persons like . Artists in discographies . Random images in songs , not at all related to the song. In list articles some random persons . Random images in albums . And many many more but these are just a few examples that I easily found.

At movies I agree, if it doesn't resamble the character, than the photograph with the actor should not be used.

No. If there is no image locally on Wikipedia, it will be taken from Wikidata P18. Images that are coming from Wikidata can be seen at the category: Artikkelit joiden kuva tulee Wikidatasta.

Wasn't here: https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Q26061&diff=prev&oldid=410112696 the official flag of that region? It's used on the official site and several other sites linked to it.
