- Zoolander Hits Paris Fashion Week: Ben Stiller & Own Wilson Close Valentino in Character Photo: Getty ImagesThe second the last model exited stage right and the somber music slowly faded, editors and other show attendees looked down to their phones to post images to Instagram, tweet reactions to Valentino’s latest ready-to-wear clothes, and dash out and on to the next show. But then, instead of seeing last looks, Human League’s 1982 hit “Don’t You Want Me” came on, and two of the most world-renowned male models came out: Derek Zoolander and Hansel McDonald. Split on either side of the circular runway, the spotlights followed Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson in their famous Zoolander characters as they gave their best blue steels. Anna Wintour with Derek and Hansel. Photo: @voguemagazine/InstagramThe crowd was literally freaking out. Anna Wintour was laughing hysterically and everyone was cheering as they charged by. Zoolander in a custom Night Butterflies brocade suit with hand-embroidered overcoat and black Creeper shoes and Hansel in a Silk Continent print Pajama suit with Double Cashmere overcoat and Open sneakers came together by the photographer’s pit and checked each other out for the ultimate fashion face off. Derek, poor soul, still can’t turn left! He had to spin around in a circle to make his way up the other side of the runway. He also grabbed a random front-rower’s iPhone and selfied his way down the rest of the stretch whilst pouting his signature look (could it have been magnum?). Hansel, meanwhile, flung his light blue coat that he had draped over his shoulders (like any fashion person in the know, he’s too good for sleeves) onto the floor and threw his left index finger into the air. The stunt was number one, indeed! Representatives from Valentino confirmed that the stunt had been in the works for months as a way of introducing the Zoolander sequel. And Paramount confirms that the movie will hit theaters February 12, 2016. Good news all, they are both still really, really ridiculously good looking!Watch the full show on live.valentino.com.
