Q:
Is it wagyu beef and can lettuce and tomatoes be added to the burgers?
A:
You won't even need to do any of that...it's incredible as it comes. And no x 3
Anna G.ÂQ:
If I go on a Monday with a table of 7, what time should I get there for minimal wait?
A:
My suggestion, put your name in anticipating a 1-2 hour wait, and then walk around the west Loop. Go to Levian cookies, etc..

Gluten free and dairy free burger on top of hash brown with an egg on top. Food was very good but egg was a little too salty. Overall good experience besides the waitress being judgy.

As usual this place never disappoints. Top 3 burgers I've ever consumed. Interesting menu, almost everything is great. Highly recommend. We waited two hours this time around and I still thought it was worth it, given how much there is to do around there. Bacon + eggs on the burger is a must. Music selection playlist is always on point. Best burger in West loop hands down.

Music is cool, location is ideal and you really can't go wrong ordering one of their burgers with a side of bacon. Single burger is two patties. Fries with eggs is awesome. Service is attentive and courteous, we were traveling with a suitcase and they graciously offered to put it behind the host stand. Sure, the wait can sometimes be long but they are open late and if you go during off hours it isn't too bad.

Food was delicious! The staff was very friendly and since it was our first time, they gave us a sampling of the General Jane's chicken which was even better than the burger in my opinion! Would highly recommend! They had good music playing and the vibe was perfect!

Honestly, the best burger in the USA.... The "single" is really a double, and the double is really a "triple".... Add lettuce and tomato....
The bologna sandwich, chicken, and bone marrow are also a must try. If you have only one choice - try a "double" with lettuce, egg, and bacon. You won't need to eat for another 24 hours...Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Akash R.Fullerton, CA25245Aug 15, 2024
The bacon was a 9.5/10, people said this restaurant has the best burger in Chicago, I thought the burger was a 8/10, many burger shops in LA serve better burgers (Example: At Heavy Handed or Oklahoma Burger at Burger She Wrote)
Service inside the restaurant was good, but the host outside was not or is new! They don't do phone reservations but they take reservations outside of the venue, the host was letting in folks that put their name on the iPad after me. After a 45 min wait, we ended up on barstools which I thought was crazy!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Megan G.Los Angeles, CA492910Sep 2, 2024
Didn't realize how popular this place was until I came back to leave a review. I was visiting from Los Angeles and winging the whole day in Chicago. I saw the star rating on Yelp and decided to come check it out. There was some interesting stuff on the menu that I would be interested in trying later (bone marrow is really tasty when done right), but this time I got a regular single - which was actually two patties - plus an egg. The burger was pretty good, not the best I've ever had. I wish the garlic was stronger on the aoli spread, but the egg was perfect. This place definitely seems overpriced. I don't really know how you can justify $8 for bacon on a burger. It's probably delicious, but there are limits on what I think is appropriate to ask a customer to pay for toppings on a burger that already comes without lettuce and tomato. I figured out pretty quickly that the price you pay is really for the ambience. I sat at the bar and I was completely rapt observing all of the chefs cook each portion of their craft burger. I could see for myself the care going into each element and that was quite a sight. I could have watched one chef cook his perfect eggs all night. It was a damn good egg.
Additional star for service - they let me charge my phone :)Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nov 7, 2023
Finally had the time to stop by and enjoy dinner at this great restaurant. The wait was around 45 minutes, and that didn't bother me because we walked around the neighborhood, which is a very cool area. Once inside, we sat at the bar and enjoyed watching the cooks, put together burgers, fries, and chicken wings.
Decor-it's a small place, that really revolves around the kitchen. I can't really remember any other decorative accents or paintings. The windows allowed for an opportunity to people watch as you walk by the restaurant.
Service-we like the service, our waitress was great, and the cooks were also very helpful.
Food-both our burgers were very very flavorful. The meat was juicy and perfectly cooked, the buns were soft and warm. The wings were a little bit too saucy if you will, but very crunchy and very tender chicken on the inside. The only thing I will say, is that my wife did not really like the sauce or spread they use for the hamburgers.
All in all, this place has amazing vibes, great energy, and really good food.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 41106146Dec 30, 2023
We ordered Door Dash and food was still amazing - definitely worth the hype as being listed as one of the best burger places on the planet!
The burger was tender and juicy and the bacon had a great texture. My fry-snob of a husband loved the fries.
Glad we didn't miss an opportunity to try out this food bucket list during our recent trip to ChicagoHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Ricky V.Anaheim, CA112242Sep 1, 2024
My brother Chex recommended this restaurant. Had to walk quite a bit and took the train to get to here from the Art Institute of Chicago. The wait was a bit too long but I guess the experience was worth it. The burger was great! Also got to try their roasted bone marrow. Just a little bummed that I had to wait for my soda to be refilled. I guess they were too busy. Otherwise, we enjoyed our dinner.

Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce you to what can only be described as the Mecca of burgers in America, nestled in the heart of Chicago. This place came highly recommended as a must-visit, and it did not disappoint.
Let's talk about the burger. Now, don't let the "single" moniker fool you--it's actually a double, and can be adorned with an egg and thick-cut bacon. The flavor is nothing short of phenomenal. Imagine this: a symphony of salty, buttery goodness that explodes in your mouth with every bite. It's the kind of burger that makes you close your eyes and just savor the moment.
Service was decent, though be prepared to wait, especially if you're with a large party. This place is always packed, a testament to its renown. The ambiance is dark and intimate, with dim lighting and bar seats set closely together, creating a cozy yet bustling atmosphere.
Now, let's address the elephant in the room--the price. At $30 for a burger (and no, fries are not included), it's definitely on the heftier side. But, believe me, it's worth it to at least give it a try. If I find myself in NYC or Chicago again, I'd happily indulge once more.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
