The atmosphere is great but the protein bowl is horrible. Couldn't bring myself to finish it.

Goddess and the baker is such a cute and friendly establishment to catch breakfast at while downtown. Its location on Wabash st is super picturesque and just makes you feel like you're fully emerged (out of towner perspective).
There's absolutely a wait and limited seating for the demand however worth it. I would definitely return and order their iced latte again . Their breakfast and pesto sandwiches were tasty.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jannel G.East Bronx, NY0256Sep 14, 2024
Unimpressed. The 3 stars are for the shaken vanilla espresso which was excellent!
The acai bowl lacked any flavor. Which how when its a fruit bowl. Ive had better.
The turkey bacon croissant came out cold, as though it had been sitting out. They replaced it but still not impressed. It was also greasy.
Stick to the coffee.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Patti T.Madison, WI81135126Aug 27, 20241 check-in
We were a little overwhelmed when we walked up just 30 min after opening and there was already a line out the door. But their system works and things moved fast. We waited maybe 10 min to order and maybe 10 min for our food. It was also easy to find a table which was incredible. The location is nice on Wabash since the outdoor tables are shaded and it was already hot.
They were out of cold brew but were able to do a shaken espresso with sweetened condensed milk for me, ala a Vietnamese coffee. It was delightful. The avocado toast was yummy with a little chili flake kick. Bread was a bit hard to cut, but tasty.
The decor is cute and bright and the space is open and welcoming. We sat at a communal table which worked out just fine. All the staff was super kind and polite. 10/10 would go again!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Aug 25, 2024
We went on a quest to find great pastries near our hotel. We landed in Goddess and the Baker. It was a little crowded and busy so we figured the pastries would be amazing. We were finally able to place our order after about a 10 minute wait. We decided to get our items to go. Once the order was placed we were instructed to wait outside and listen out for our names, which we did. We received our bag (which was stapled closed) and drinks and trekked back to our hotel.
Once we were settled back in our room, I realized one item was missing from my bag. I called the restaurant to address the issue and the person on the other end never apologized, she simply asked me why didn't grab the item at the counter. Wouldn't that instruction come from someone that worked there? I was originally told to wait outside for my items.
Per whomever I spoke to, my account will be credited...which is fine but the lack of accountability ruined everything.
Aside from the missing item, the pastries were just ok, nothing to write home about. Picture included as a point of reference...all items are enclosed in a glass case so what exactly would I have been grabbing at the counter? Go figure.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sep 7, 20241 check-in
I was roaming around Millennium park, when I decided to go for a tea. Strawberry matcha latte was the best thing I had from here. There was real strawberry flavor in the tea. Passionfruit lemonade had strong flavors plus looked good on pictures. Strawberry matcha cruffin was the best food Item I had from here. It was rich and flavorful. I also went for the rainbow cake, only because others recommended it. It was good as well, but didn't feel worth the hype. Cruffin tasted better for me.

Goddess and the Baker, nestled in the heart of downtown Chicago, is a vibrant and trendy café that has quickly become a favorite among locals and tourists alike. With its chic décor, lively atmosphere, and a menu that balances indulgence with wholesome options, it's easy to see why this spot has earned such popularity.
Ambiance:
The café exudes a warm and welcoming vibe, with modern, eclectic furnishings that give it a hip yet cozy feel. The décor is a mix of industrial chic and vibrant colors, creating an inviting space perfect for catching up with friends or enjoying a quiet coffee alone. The large windows let in plenty of natural light, making it a great place to relax or get some work done. The café does get busy, especially during peak hours, so it can be a bit noisy, but the energy is part of its charm.

Whether you're in the mood for a hearty breakfast, a light lunch, or just a quick coffee and dessert, you'll find something to satisfy your cravings. The café is known for its artisanal coffee, and the "honey butter cinnamon latte" is a standout--sweet, creamy, and perfectly balanced. For those looking for something more substantial, the avocado toast is a fresh and flavorful option, and the "Goddess Grilled Cheese" is a must-try with its gooey, cheesy goodness.
One of the highlights is their impressive selection of baked goods. The cakes and pastries are as delicious as they are beautiful, with options ranging from classic chocolate chip cookies to more decadent treats like their famous "Rainbow Cake." The quality of the food is consistently high, with fresh ingredients and thoughtful presentation.
Service:
The service at Goddess and the Baker is friendly and efficient. Despite the bustling environment, the staff manages to maintain a cheerful demeanor, and orders are prepared promptly. They are also accommodating to dietary restrictions, offering a variety of vegan and gluten-free options.

Stopped in this morning around 9 am for a quick breakfast - it was relatively busy inside but there were seats here and there
Ambiance: Very spacious and beautiful space! Lots of tables, a cute easy to read menu, and very full and aesthetic display case of pastries
A lot of people were working and there is also outside seating available - they also had water cups, condiments, and a bin to place ur plates after ur done
Service: Cashier was quick, took my order, and gave me a little table number. My items came out within 10 minutes
Food:
Matcha Latte w/ Oat Milk: 5/10
- it does come sweetened , as you can see by the color it's a very muddy green
- poor matcha quality, the flavor itself isn't bad - it's not grassy at all and is a relatively mild vanilla flavor ??
- the oat milk was creamy
- I can't say this is a matcha latte but as a drink, it wasn't bad
Greek Naanwich - w/ a side of fruit: 8/10
- you can also get chips instead of fruit
- for $13.99 this thing is HUGE but it's mostly lettuce in there - the chicken portion is alright but a little more would make it perfect
- I loved the pita on this - crispy and fluffy, held together well
- the dressing was light and tangy
- honestly just needed a better meat to veggie ratio but this was a pretty light and filling breakfast
- the fruit cup wasn't noteworthy
Would come back to try some more popular offerings!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jul 2, 2024
I stopped here after a long flight and didn't even look up any reviews, but I was very impressed with my food and coffee.
The chicken club was exactly what I wanted. It was fresh and the bread was soft, but not soggy. My latte was pretty good, too.
The ambiance of this place was super cute and fun! Really nice lunch spot.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jun 29, 2024
It was busy this morning (mid Saturday morning) but the line moved quickly.
My friend got the Açaí bowl, seemed to enjoy it.
My Morning Sandwich, I changed to sourdough bread. It was yummy and filling - good amount of everything on it. The strawberry matcha was also quite yummy, tasted mostly the milk and strawberry, over matcha flavor.
Definitely worth checking out if you're in Chicago.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
