We stayed at Illinois State Fair Campgrounds for four nights in early March. Almost the whole park was empty except for a dozen long term tenets. If you plan to visit Springfield during this time of year there is no other place open. The older restrooms and shower building were large and heated (it was chilly out), but they had not been cleaned in some time. Same cigarettes butts, and clumps of hair were still there after four days. Check out how the water comes out before committing to a stall too. It is a typical, modern fairground campground: a parking lot with level sites, good water, electricity, no shade, no sewer. They do have a dump station. They also have many sites on the grass but many of thoses were not level. We also called the office telephone number five times, left messages, but no callback. Also for only having dozen tenets they should have had better wifi! No RV Park without usable wifi gets more than one star from us. The technology is here, there is nothing to stop any Park from investing in doing wifi properly. For some users, such as ourselves, wifi is the single most important feature in any RV Park.
