Mixto Latin Cuisine

The food here is phenomenal! I would definitely recommend their Birria tacos and Arroz Con Mariscos! This is my new favorite restaurant.

Seafood stew is still Wondeful!!!!! This is a Sunset neighborhood gem. Service is constantly attentive and helpful. Chef is a star....I'm looking for great food and keep coming back here. Thank you for the great food, relaxed environment and consistent all around pleasant experience.

My friend wanted to have a belated birthday lunch with me, so I chose Mixto since it's been in my bookmarks and looked interesting. Located further down the avenues on 45th, we walked about a mile down from where we were on this sunny, beautiful day. We got there around noon and we were among a few in the restaurant. Modern interiors with a Latin theme. It took us a bit of time to figure out what we wanted to order, as their menu was extensive! Our server was efficient and pleasant.

BIRRIA TACOS (3) ~ slow stewed beef with dried chilies and spices, melted cheese, cilantro, with a side of consommé. These tacos were tasty and full of flavor! Dipping them into the broth was great too! The grilled jalapeño was SPICY! Maybe because I'm a weakling when it comes to spicy foods. But I'm glad I took that home with a leftover taco and had sour cream to cool off my mouth! If I ate it at the restaurant, water wouldn't have cut it! Feel the HEEEAT!!! But a good burn every now and then isn't bad! 4/5

PICARONES CON POLLO ~ Warm Peruvian donuts, crispy fried chicken, pisco spiced maple syrup. My friend ordered this and let me try a donut. It was really good! Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The flavor of the donut tasted more like bread, but managed to stay soft. The maple syrup had a touch of cinnamon and lightly sweetened compared to regular maple syrup. The strips of chicken were ok. A bit drier than I would have liked. Possibly if they were bigger pieces, it would have tasted juicier. Though it was seasoned well. The portion of chicken was a bit small in comparison to the 2 large donuts. The donuts were the star of this dish vs if you were to order chicken and waffles elsewhere, the chicken would be the highlight. 4/5

PLANTAIN CHIPS with aji verde ~ crispy plantains with a creamy, spicy sauce. We enjoyed this side throughout our meal. Took some home and reheated it in the air fryer. Turned out crispier! 4.5/5

Wow, wow, wow! Go here and enjoy some amazing food, drinks and service. Quiet and in the neighborhood, just off one of the trains. The sangria is the best I have had as far back as I can remember!

We were so excited when this restaurant came to the Outer Sunset. Incredible Lomo Saltado! And a lot of other great options on the menu.

Uufff...soo good. Randomly picked from google maps, although I had a sense it was gonna be good.

As I arrived the ambience already felt friendly and familiar, professionl but warm.
Big plus to the service, I asked for advice and I got a night full of culinary and entertainment tipps, both on what to pick from the menu and on how to enjoy my staying in San Francisco.

I had the mixto ceviche as appetizer and then moved on with the marescada.
I'm a big fan of ceviche, and the one I got was a very interesting and delicate mix. Carefull...it's spicy (at least for me). So if you don't like spicy food, not for you. But if you do....well, highly recommended!

Marescada was just an amazing discovery, it was the first time for me that I ordered it, and I loved the combination of the sweetness of the juicy sauce, together with the spiciness (yes, this one too). Fish tasted very fresh and soft, perfectly cooked. The whole dishe felt very balanced to me.

I did not try the desserts, because I was full :D

Great new spot on Judah. They have a couple of outdoor tables on the sidewalk which are dog friendly as well. Our server was so sweet and we had an amazing time dining here. Prices are a bit high for some of the appetizers but our favorite dish was the Fish Tacos which was well worth the price. Excited to return and try more!

Yum! Cute little place we tried based on other yelp reviews. Great tunes playing inside and nice and bright interior. Eclectic mix of dishes and all so very tasty. Service great as well. Just delicious. Go try for yourself you won't regret it.

Came here last night and had an awesome dinner. The service and food were fantastic.

I started with a michelada which was really good. It's surprisingly hard to find a decent one but they nailed it with the classic Clamato juice and the perfect amount of spice.

We started with the Taquenos and shrimp ceviche. Both were so good. The ceviche was so fresh, I want to try the ahi one next time. They also gave us chips and salsa. The house-made salsas were delish.

Next we shared the steak. It came out a little under what we ordered and they put it back on the grill and cooked it to perfection. It was so freaking good there wasn't even a grilled onion left on the plate.

We ended up getting the donuts to go. They were ok, probably better dining in. Overall I can't wait to come back. Also our server Ana was one of our favorite parts of the experience. She was so sweet and accommodating. This is a great addition to the outer sunset!

The food and service was amazing, family friendly including our 1 year old and 2 year old fur baby. Server was friendly I got the sunset mule and Lomo Saltado were spectacular!
