Q:
Where to park in the area? Also, can you order drinks & appetizers only in the patio-lounge area or is this reserved for diners only? Will probably end up eating there too, just wondering if is ok to just do drinks & appy's in the lounge?
A:
The hotel offers valet service. Otherwise it's street parking or whatever garage you can find nearby. Drinks and appetizers are more than welcome.

Had a wonderful experience here! Located in the Hiltons on the rooftop and the view is absolutely stunning! Especially at night when the fog rolls in. It was cold but thankfully they had heaters and provided blankets for us! The service was great' the staff were friendly and welcoming!
The food from start to finish was amazing! For starters we ordered the oysters which were smooth! Quite small but flavorful. As for tapas, ordered a whole bunch of them! My favorite was the roasted cauliflower! So delicious that my friends and I ordered twice. The paella was scrumptious and such a delight, but smaller than we thought. I thought the plate was going to be bigger but one person can finish that whole plate. The best dish for me was the pappardelle! Fresh pasta all the way. Every bite was wonderful. We finished off with dessert and the best one was the creme brulee.
Overall it was quite an experience and would love to come back!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nancy S.Reno, NV1513852Sep 2, 2024
We stayed at the hotel, which was great, and this roof top bar was amazing. My daughter and I went shortly after they opened on a week night just to kill some time and the staff was super kind, attentive, and accommodating. The bartender even gave her some of those cherries they use for garnish after asking if it was okay with me. I had the Tuna tartar and it was pretty good.
Definitely more for adults when it's later, but it was a nice little retreat and great views.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sep 2, 2024
Absolutely stunning place and views!
Food is exceptional and packed with flavor.
The staff is friendly and very welcoming.
I recommend making reservations ahead of time if possible, thankfully the staff was able to accommodate us without having to wait.
Night views are amazing and definitely planning to go back during golden hour.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Aug 25, 20241 check-in
A great spot for date night with a beautiful view of the city, located in the Canopy Hilton Hotel. We got there around 6 pm, so it was still bright out. The hostess was polite and accommodating and gave us an option to sit inside or outside. We chose to sit outside thinking it was warm enough. But being on a rooftop, it was cool and breezy, where my hair was whipping in the wind! Although I wasn't cold, it wasn't easy to take photos without my hair in my face! I think after sunset, the city lights would make for better pictures as well. But we had plans after having a few drinks and appetizers, so this was just a pitstop before the main event.
***OUR PICKS***
LYCHEE MARTINI ~ Tasty drink though instead of a lychee in the drink, they used a cherry which made it a little pink on the bottom. Not a bad thing, but different. 4/5
CASEY'S PUNCH ~ Tito's Vodka, Peach Schnapp's, passion fruit, orange, and cranberry. Nice and fruity and somewhat boozy. 4/5
SMOKE TROUT PATE ~ Whipped cream cheese, lemon, dill, toasted rye and caviar. They give you 5 slices of crunchy toast for the pate. It tasted pretty good and it wasn't too salty. Though I prefer crackers or smaller pieces of toast. 4/5
BLUEFIN TUNA TARTARE ~ Avocado, tamari, ginger, kewpie wasabi mayo, jalapeno, scallion, and crispy purple potato chips. This was good as well, though I think it should have been in a smaller bowl surrounded by the chips. The presentation could have been better and portion was quite small. 3/5
For 2 drinks and 2 appetizers, it was $100! Pretty pricey! And that wasn't even dinner.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 3Oh no 0 - Sep 6, 2024
Great views of the city! We've been coming here since it was first known as Everdeen. Staff is always great whenever we visit for quick drinks with friends or when we have reservations for dinner. Great unique cocktails and can't complain about their food, limited menu but theres always something to fill pur bellies, just the typical SF city prices. I definitely would be aware when events are going on nearby in the city, could be a little more difficult to make reservations or walk-ins when they do get busy. We are extremely lucky to live by a few blocks and pop in on the calmer days.

I visited on a Thursday around noon, and the place was completely empty! I imagine it gets busier after work hours. The views are stunning, and I secretly hope this spot stays under the radar to avoid overcrowding.
The perfect place for a happy hour, 1:1 meeting, or date!
I stopped by for a quick bite and drink, ordering the Kumamoto oysters on the half shell and the San Fuego cocktail. Both were excellent, and I would definitely order them again!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 18103314Jul 15, 2024
Great spot of a few drinks and food after work! they have cocktails, light bites, and bigger plates. It's a nice rooftop with chill vibes and has a great view of San Francisco. To get to the rooftop, enter through the Canopy by Hilton and take the elevator to the roof.
I tried the prosciutto and burrata flatbread which was really good for sharing.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jun 24, 20241 check-in
I'm a huge proponent of rooftop bars. My friend had never gone to one, so before my birthday dinner I suggested we check one out! We chose Shelby's for the views and it was one of the rooftops in the city I had still yet to visit.
Located in the Canopy Hilton hotel, you can stroll straight to the elevators from the lobby to the 12th floor to reach the rooftop lounge. Once out of the elevators, check in with the host and admire the view wherever you're seated! We made reservations in advance but on a Monday afternoon, it wasn't needed. Luckily, we were tucked away with a cozy table that had a picturesque view of the skyscrapers downtown. The sun was out too which made was the cherry on top. The waiter who helped us was cordial but did not have much personal interaction.
Both myself and my friend loved sipping, noshing, and taking in the views of the city. We enjoyed our libations and shared Chips and Roasted Cauliflower. The chips were needed with the drinks--crunchy, slightly salty, and always an addiction. The cauliflower was well roasted and came with a zingy slightly sweet taste. I would love to see more selection of the food, especially considering the price point--starters, tapas, and large plate items were pretty limited and tasted fine but not wow-worthy.
With a handful of rooftop bars in SF, it can be hard to choose one. Shelby's Rooftop is a breath of fresh air as it's lowkey and less crowded than others. For this spot, you come for the view over the food, but the drinks are great. Located off 4th Street, it's easy to access with parking garages nearby.Helpful 32Thanks 16Love this 32Oh no 1 - Jun 30, 20241 check-in
San Francisco's rooftop scene is legendary, and Shelby's Rooftop at the Canopy by Hilton definitely lives up to the hype. Perched on the 12th floor, this lounge offers stunning panoramic views of the city and a vibrant atmosphere that's perfect for a night out.
The first thing you'll notice is the ambiance. Shelby's Rooftop strikes a perfect balance between lively and chic. It's definitely buzzing, so make reservations in advance to secure your spot. There's both indoor and outdoor seating, and while they have heaters for the outdoor area, they weren't the most effective on my visit. So, a recommendation - bring a jacket or layer up, especially if you plan on spending most of your time outside.
I opted for their house-aged old fashioned, and it was fantastic. The combination of Dickel 8 Bourbon, maple syrup, amaretto, bitters, and smoked oak created a beautifully balanced and flavorful drink. Highly recommend it!
For food, I tried the prosciutto and burrata flatbread. The candied walnuts added a touch of sweetness that perfectly complemented the salty prosciutto, and the house-made rosemary and sea salt flatbread was a delicious base. Everything on the plate worked together perfectly.
Service at Shelby's Rooftop was attentive without being overbearing. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu and drinks and made sure we had a great experience.
Overall, Shelby's Rooftop earns a solid 4 stars. The stunning views, delicious food and drinks, and lively atmosphere make it a great place to spend an evening in San Francisco. Just remember to make a reservation and bring a layer for those outdoor seats!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Bella B.Southeastern Sacramento, Sacramento, CA12451Sep 10, 2024
