The interior was elegant, but the eating areas can seem stuffed on busy days. I went here on a Sunday and there was great live music. I'm a full believer that it's easy to execute simple things poorly. Thankfully, this restaurant did not disappoint with their all-American Breakfast brunch selection.
The dish comes with two eggs, hashbrowns, sausage, peppered bacon, and country sourdough.
The eggs were cooked perfectly, and each bite paired well with each other item on the plate. The best pairing was the egg with the sourdough toast, which was delicious.
Hashbrowns were scattered instead of packed together, making each bite have a great mix of satisfying crunchy bites.
Sausage was portioned better than other restaurants and had its own flavor. However, the bacon was the better protein choice on the plate. It had a crumbly but not overcooked texture and just the right amount of pepper to compliment the saltiness of the pork.
These are all simple dishes in essence and should be easily executed by restaurants. However, I have had bad experiences from more pricy establishments. Each had their own unique twist. I will sure come to try while other dishes.
I am only taking away a star because service was slow and inconsistent. I ordered and received my coffee in about 10 minutes. Then, after I wasn't quite ready to order food, it took the waiter over 20 minutes to return. I was alone and only took 3 minutes to make up my mind. I couldn't find him until he showed up much later.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Dec 15, 2023
I was in town for a work trip and decided to try this restaurant out based on reviews and proximity to my hotel.
Overall, it was good. They had blue cheese stuffed olives for my first martini and the tuna tartare was one of the best I've had in a while--the fish and chips, as recommended, was a great choice for my entree. I'd highly recommend.
The only reason I gave it 4 stars is that as the night went on our server didn't check in on us as regularly and the tables felt a little too close for me.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - May 19, 2024
Tried to get a reservation, but none were available. Walked in and were offered a table for an hour after a matinee at the Cadillac Palace, so we opted for drinks and a snack. Service was excellent, the Parmesan truffle fries were so good we were tempted when our waitress offered us a refill, though she meant another round of drinks. Hope to return and have a meal as all the food looked delicious. Love the decor and ambiance and would've stayed longer, if we had the option!

Located right across the street from Richard Daley Center and next to Block 37. There are plenty of stores and sightseeing options nearby. Easily accessible via subway.
We stopped by on a Sunday morning for breakfast and ended up waiting for 40 minutes... Reservation is strongly recommended. They have a basic menu mainly saving pizza, burger and sandwiches along with some small plate dishes. We enjoyed our mushroom pizza which came with lots of mushrooms. Burger was average for $20. Wouldn't order their cocktail again (kinda boring).
Service was quick and attentive. Btw, there was live performance during our time there so that was a plus.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - May 17, 2024
I have been coming here for years and it never disappoints. Tonight we were seated in a corner booth, which was fabulous. Our server, Patrick, was very good. We started sharing two appetizers, the burrata and the prosciutto and white cheddar croquettes. Both were very good. I had the specialty burger of the month for my entree, which was great. The burgers come with fries, which are also great. Somehow I managed to have a few bites of dessert, which was some kind of chocolate cake and ice cream that was good. I washed it all down with a few refreshing glasses of pinot noir. The value was very good for what we had. I keep coming back again and again.

In the heart of Chicago loop.
Reservation is a must for brunch.
Beautiful tavern. Food was yummy.
Service was off. Not much vegan option. So we ordered avocado BLT without egg or bacon.
It came out as regular blt. Server ask if we want change it. Umm, yes. Server didn't look too happy with our answer. We had to flagged her down for water and the bill too.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Roman N.Menlo Park, CAApr 15, 2024
Had a phenomenal dinner at the Dearborn last night! The food was picturesque and delicious, the service was very friendly, and the atmosphere was chic.
My brother, dad, and I were in the area, seeing as we had just checked out the Sear's (now Willis) tower observation deck. I remember seeing the Dearborn recommended earlier on during our trip, and the food looked great, so we walked on over.
We were quickly seated at a table next to these giant floor-to-ceiling windows, giving us a nice view of outside. We over-indulged, ordering the Midwest fried chicken, meze plate, a Dearborn burger each, and house-made chocolate chip cookies and vanilla ice cream. We had stomach aches long into the night, but it was worth it!
The fried chicken had this sweet mustard maple glaze, was lightly fried, and juicy. The meze plate's tatziki was zesty and refreshing, the tahini added a nice subtle spice, but the standout was the creamy hummus: it had a very subtle nutty flavor, which I prefer to a strong one. My only nitpick was that one piece of pita wasn't enough to eat all the dips. They were still delicious, tho.
The Dearborn burger came with two juicy patties along with a generous portion of thin and crispy fries. The burger was very filling, but once the cheese was gone, the meat was the primary flavor. I feel like the burger would really benefit from some tomatoes or onions to break up the flavor profile a little bit, but other than that, it was a great burger.
Then came dessert. Now, we were already full, so dessert wasn't the smartest choice, but it was the right one. The house-made chocolate cookies were soft, warm and filled with melty chocolate chips. The ice cream was surprisingly creamy and firm. Perfect way to cap off the final night of a trip, or any night for that matter.
Going back to the atmosphere, the staff made us feel very welcome. Our server periodically checked in on us, cracked some jokes, and made us feel like we were right at home. One of the bus boys even complemented my hat, which I appreciated.
All in all, dinner at Dearborn was a fun and enjoyable experience. If you're looking for a slightly elevated dining experience in downtown Chicago, come on over!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Kenneth A.Algonquin, ILJul 28, 2024

We eat here often when we go to Broadway shows. We went to the Goodman and walked across the corner to the Dearborn. I love the co d fish and chips and have trouble ordering anything else! The Dearborn burger was great as well as their Midwest fried chicken. The Esprit Gassier Rose was terrific too!

We've been here many times pre Covid but the menu has changed. There are many appetizers and small plates but I found the entree list limited. Although if you count the pizzas it's not so bad.
We started with the octopus but is was tough and inedible. They profusely apologized and brought the ceviche for us to try which was outstanding. The 3 of us ordered the Amish chicken, cod fish and chips, and a pepperoni pizza. The fish and chips was lightly battered and just a delight to eat and not heavy or greasy. A signature dish! My pizza was thin crust with a tasty sauce with the pepperoni. Very good.
We finished with the very creative coconut lemon panna cotta. Very refreshing!

Victor gave us great service and conversation!Aug 11, 2017Previous reviewA nice addition in the theatre district. It has a casual design but the menu is adventurous.
The wine list is pricy but they have a short list of more affordable wines, although the cheapest was $44.
I loved the menu, which will bring us back to try many more dishes. We started with the burrata salad with pickled beets and tomatoes. The burrata was like cream, so smooth.
For entrees I started with the king crab salad, which came in a crab shell over ice. The salad had fruit and vegetables that mixed well together, and lots of crab meat.
Others had the fish and chips which was tasty cod is a light and not greasy batter. The walleye and the scallops dishes got raves.
We finished with key lime pie which had a surprisingly good ginger snap crust, but the huge meringue top was too sweet. The other dessert, the fantasy of chocolate, had fudge cake, chocolate, and coffee ice cream.
A delightful evening.
Back for more. The tuna poke had a nice mix of tuna and fruit slices. A nice citrus taste.
The Rainbow Trout was new and a hit. I had the fried chicken appetizer, which was a full meal. Incredible crispy covering that was irresistible!Jun 11, 2017Previous reviewA nice addition in the theatre district. It has a casual design but the menu is adventurous.

THIS PLACE 10/10! visiting chicago and decided to try it out - this pizza may be one of the best i've ever had. such a hearty serving of prosciutto scattered, amazing truffle flavors, and the egg was an excellent touch. i'd come back again and again for this. also, it's MASSIVE - we came hungry and it definitely did the job! i'll have dreams about this pizza forever i'm convinced. next, we got the famous fish fry and truffle grilled cheese - both super yummy as well! the fish was fried perfectly and the fries were super good, with the cole slaw being a nice touch! it's definitely in the top 5 fish fries i've had! the grilled cheese was also great - pro tip, add bacon! such a game changer and again a super hearty serving!
the service here was great, I LOVED the atmosphere with multiple rooms/ seating options and a beautiful interior. made it to one of my favorite restaurants in chicago!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
