    Synopsis

Omnicom group unveiled a new identity for Mudra on Tuesday, just a few months after buying out the advertising agency.

MUMBAI: Omnicom group unveiled a new identity for Mudra on Tuesday, just a few months after buying out the advertising agency.

Christened DDB Mudra group, the new entity would consist of eight flagship agencies, says Madhukar Kamath, group CEO and managing director, DDB Mudra group. The group also announced the entry of a leading global shopper-marketing agency— TracyLocke—in the country.

“While working on the new identity, we followed the DDB global guidelines with suitable modifications to accommodate the Mudra identity,” says Kamath, adding that very few DDB agencies in the world have used the local agency name and India is one of the exceptions.

So while its yellow and black colour palette identifies DDB across the globe, in India it would also have the Mudra red on the visiting cards.

John Zeigler, Chairman & chief executive officer, DDB Group Asia Pacific, Japan & India, was also present at the unveiling of the new identity.

DDB Mudra group also announced consolidation of Omnicom’s branding agency Interbrand in India, which would now be represented by branding and design consultancy Water.
