    India pledges Rs 55 mn for building education campuses

    India has pledged over 55 million Nepali Rupees for construction of campus buildings in two educational institutions in Nepal.

    KATHMANDU: India has pledged over 55 million Nepali Rupees for construction of campus buildings in two educational institutions in Nepal.

    India has pledged to provide NRs 40.6 million for the construction of a new building for Shri Aambookhaireni Campus at Aambukhaireni village in Tanahun district of western Nepal.

    Similarly, NRs 14.42 million will be given for the construction of campus building of the Shri Tribhuvan Campus at Rupakot village of Tanahun district.

    Jaideep Mazumdar, Deputy Chief of Mission, Indian Embassy, Kathmandu, today unveiled the plaque for the construction of campus building of Shri Aambookhaireni Campus.

    At another function, Piyush Shrivastav, Political Counsellor, inaugurated the newly constructed campus building for Shri Tribhuvan Campus at Rupakot village, according to a press release.

    The campus affiliated to Tribhuvan University is providing education to over 1,000 students, half of whom are girls, according to a press release issued by the Indian Embassy.

    The new building will provide much needed classroom space and create an improved learning atmosphere for the students, the Embassy said in the press release.

    In addition to this projects, work is ongoing on three projects in Tanahun District with Indian assistance of NRs 65.23 million.

    India has also provided four ambulances for health care services in the district.
