    NIT Mizoram achieves impressive placement record for 2023-2024 academic session with 86.7% overall placement

    NIT Mizoram posted an 86.7% placement rate for 2023-2024, with the highest salary package at 14.5 LPA and an average over 7 LPA. Over 75 companies, including Adobe, Deloitte, Vedanta, and Mahindra & Mahindra, recruited students. Among the students, Shristi Sharma and Nishant Nitin Mishra, who secured four job offers, praised the Training and Placement Office. Internships, part of the curriculum, involved 100% student participation with organizations like SAIL, Indian Railways, and Google, offering stipends between ₹5,000 to ₹20,000 per month.

    Guwahati: National Institute of Technology Mizoram (NIT Mizoram) achieved an impressive placement record for the 2023-2024 academic session, with an 86.7% overall placement percentage among the registered candidates. The highest salary package received this year is 14.5 LPA, and the average salary package is more than 7 LPA.

In the last academic session, over 75 companies conducted a recruitment drive at NIT Mizoram.

    Industries such as Adobe, Deloitte, Vedanta, L&T, Ashok Leyland, Lumiq.AI, Bajaj Capital, Shadowfax, Scaledge Technology, Mahindra & Mahindra, KEC International, Alstom, and many more companies recruited the students of NIT Mizoram in 2023-2024 academic session for their analytical and innovative capabilities. These top-tier recruiters, among others, showcased their trust in NIT Mizoram's academic rigor and the industry readiness of its students, resulting in a successful and dynamic placement season. Among the students placed at Deloitte, Shristi Sharma thanked the institute, saying “I am extremely grateful to the Training and Placement team for their exceptional efforts, especially during this challenging era. Their hard work and dedication have paid off immensely, and I am thrilled to share that I have been placed at Deloitte.”

    Reflecting on this year's placement at NIT Mizoram, a recent ECE graduating student of NIT Mizoram, Nishant Nitin Mishra, secured a total of four job offers in Scaledge Technology, Eldaas Technology, SemiFront, and Vicharak; said, "Thanks to the excellent support provided by the Training and Placement office of NIT Mizoram to develop my analytical, technical, leadership and management skills, I received multiple offers and accepted a position at Scaledge Technology. Thank you for the institute's dedication to achieving an 86% placement rate. Proud to be an NIT Mizoram alumnus."

    Further, the Institute's Training and Placement Office organizes student training and internship opportunities. Each engineering discipline includes a compulsory internship in its curriculum. As a result, the students of NIT Mizoram are strongly encouraged to pursue internships with prestigious institutes and industries not only once but in multiple internships in successive semester breaks. In the 2023-24 academic year, 100% of students completed internships with organizations such as SAIL, Indian Railways, Airport Authority of India, Bureau of Indian Standards, PHED; PWD in Mizoram, Power Grid, ECIL, BHEL, IOCL, IOL, CDAC, Google, Microsoft and many more.

    During the internship, some of these students even received stipends ranging from 5,000/- to 20,000/- per month during their internships. The student placed in Adobe, Sanskar Sharma, said, "I interned at Adobe where I got introduced to a professional working environment, collaborated with diverse and talented individuals, and learned new skills, both technical and non-technical, to prepare myself for the professional world. Through my hard work, dedication, and support of NIT Mizoram's placement office, I was able to bag a pre-placement offer at Adobe."

    Following last year's successful placement record, more than 90% of students of NIT Mizoram for the 2024-2025 academic session have already joined different reputed companies undergoing summer or industrial internship programs, including IOCL, SAIL, BHEL, BIS, NTPC, BSNL, PWD, PHE, Tata Motors, Tata Steel, L&T Construction, Hyundai, Jindal Power, Microsoft, Central Railways, Cyber Crime Wind (CID), All India Radio, Airport Authority of India, etc. The remaining students will report to the internship organizations soon.

    Further, around 30 students of NIT Mizoram are also undergoing research internships at various IITs, including IIT Madras, IIT Kanpur, IIT Patna, IIT Bhilai, IIT BHU, IIT Roorkee, IIT Indore, IIT Hyderabad and so on. Notably, ten students joined IIT Madras for summer internships, out of which seven students are under the Direct PhD exchange program under MoU with IIT Madras. A total of 9 students joined the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) through MoU. Recently, NIT Mizoram signed a MoU with the Airport Authority of India (AAI) to boost the training and placement activities.

    In addition, this year, 30 students from other engineering institutes or universities are undergoing summer internships under the faculty members of NIT Mizoram in physical and online mode. The Faculty in-charge of Training and Placement at NIT Mizoram and Associate Dean of Students' Welfare, Dr. Sukanta Roy, said, "We are overwhelmed with the number of applications received this year for the inward summer internships. The number of inward applications is a testimony to the quality of our faculty members. We are confident to achieve new highs in the upcoming semesters".
