    The 2014 edition of Food&HotelAsia 2014 (FHA) and Wine&SpiritsAsia exhibition is expecting a six per cent rise in business deals this year.

    NEW DELHI: The 2014 edition of Food&HotelAsia 2014 (FHA) and Wine&SpiritsAsia exhibition is expecting a six per cent rise in business deals this year.

    The biennial exhibition, to be held this year in Singapore from April 8-11, would cover an area of 100,000 sq meters.

    "This is an eight per cent increase in its size from 2012," said Lindy Wee, director (PR & Conference) of Singapore Exhibition Services Pte, which is organising the event.

    Wee said in 2012, the exhibition saw business deals worth $3.36 billion and is Asia's largest international B2B food and hospitality trade exhibition and conference.

    "This year Industry buyers can expect to source from a gathering of 2,800 exhibitors from 70 countries and 54 group pavilion at FHA," she added.

    Moreover, this year we have almost 80 per cent increase in the Indian participation and some big firms including the industry body CII is participating in the event.

    "We are expecting around 43,000 trade visitors in the 2014 edition," she said adding that this year participants are coming from countries as Brazil, Ecuador, Cyrus and EU.

    The 2012 edition had 42,000 visitors. This year a new show 'Speciality Coffee & Tea' has been added, bringing the total number of shows to six. The other specialised shows are -- Food Asia, Hotel Asia, Bakery & Pastry, Hospitality Style Asia and Hospitality technology.
