The two have been at loggerheads ever since Ranaut branded him as a ‘movie mafia’ in one of the episodes of the popular talk show ‘Koffee With Karan’.
The cold war between Bollywood ‘Queen’ Kangana Ranaut and director-producer Karan Johar continues.

The ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ star recently uploaded an old video of the ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ director saying that he is not interested in working with the actress. The clip was originally shared by one of her fans.

Taking to Instagram, the Manikarnika actress shared the video, along with the tag, ‘movie mafia’ for the ‘Ai Dil Hai Mushkil’ director.

Ranaut wrote, “Chacha Chaudhary, thanks for these frivolous outbursts when I establish myself as a filmmaker and producer... Will rub these in your face..."

In the first part of the video, the ‘Koffee With Karan’ host can be seen ranting about Ranaut and claiming that he has made the choice of not giving her work. “When she said 'movie mafia' what does she mean? What does she think we are doing? Sitting and not giving her work? Is that what makes our mafia? No, we do that by choice. I do that because maybe I am not interested in working with her."

The two have been at loggerheads ever since Ranaut branded him as a ‘movie mafia’ in one of the episodes of the popular talk show ‘Koffee With Karan’.

Ranaut had since gone on to call out the nepotism of Bollywood, where star kids belonging to a few influential families get the best opportunities and outsiders are marginalised. Recently, when Priyanka Chopra talked about being cornered by a few influential people in Bollywood at a podcast show, Ranaut, who had worked with her in the Madhur Bhandarkar directorial ‘Fashion’ claimed that Johar was the one responsible for her exit from Bollywood.

On the work front, Ranaut is busy with her next project, ‘Emergency’. It is touted to be a biopic on India’s former prime minister, Indira Gandhi. She was last seen in the 2022 action-thriller ‘Dhaakad’ which went on to be a box office disaster.
