Aaliya who hoped to etch an individual identity apart from a star wife through the reality TV show, soon fell foul of the co-contestants as well as the audience as she brought up her fractured marriage with the ‘Sacred Games’ star too often.

    Story outline

    • Aalia Siddiqui lasted about two and a half weeks in the 'Bigg Boss' house.
    • She was reprimanded by the host Salman Khan for bringing up her marriage to the 'Sacred Games' star.
    • She was given 15 minutes to pack her bags and leave.
Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s estranged wife Aaliya, who recently hit headlines for participating in the digital reality TV show ‘Big Boss OTT 2’, was recently evicted from the house.

She became the third celebrity after Puneet Superstar and Palak Purswani, to leave the house. She lasted a total of two and a half weeks before she was shown the door. She and co-contestant Jiya Shankar were given 15 minutes to pack their bags after an audience poll voted them out of the house.

Aaliya who hoped to etch an individual identity apart from a star wife through the reality TV show, soon fell foul of the co-contestants as well as the audience as she brought up her fractured marriage with the ‘Sacred Games’ star too often. At one point she was rebuked by the host, Bollywood star Salman Khan who told her “It is irrelevant to the Bigg Boss house. We have no interest in knowing Aaliya’s personal life and vacations.”

Ex-Bollywood diva Pooja Bhatt who is also participating in the show was seen advising Siddiqui to “drop the victim card” and move ahead in life. Referring to her own divorce she told the latter, “ Shaadi meri bhi tooti hai. Dher saari auraton ki tooti hai iske pehle (Even my marriage did not survive, many other women went through the same ordeal), and unfortunately a lot more will go through it in the future, but people get tired of seeing the victim card. I think if you drop the victim card, you will go far in life.”

Before participating in ‘Bigg Boss OTT 2’ in an interview with ETimes TV, Aaliya revealed that she had come to Mumbai with hopes to make her career but ended up being known as Nawazuddin Siddiqui’s wife. This was her attempt to carve an individual identity. “I wanted to do something for my own. I didn’t want to be dependent on anyone financially,” she was quoted as saying to the entertainment portal.
