Both the actresses have been questioned separately by the ED on numerous occasions in Rs 200 crore money-laundering case.
Actress Nora Fatehi, whose name had appeared during an investigation against conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar in the Rs 200 crore money-laundering case, has now sued Jacqueline Fernandez for defamation.

Fernandez has been named as an accused in the supplementary charge sheet by the Enforcement Directorate. Both the actresses were earlier questioned separately by the agency on numerous occasions.

Now according to a recent report, Fatehi has filed a defamation case against the 'Ram Setu' actress over her written plea before the PMLA (Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002) court where she claimed that she was "falsely being implicated by the ED while celebs such as Nora Fatehi, who had also received gifts from conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar, had been made witness," according to a report in India Today.

In her plea Fatehi further said that Fernandez sought to "criminally defame the complainant in order to destroy her career to further her own interests, since they are both working in the same industry and have similar backgrounds, amongst other reasons."

In its charge sheet, ED claimed that Chandrashekar had gifted a BMW car to Fatehi in December 2020 and later gave her Rs 75 lakh, besides other expensive gifts.

In her statement to ED, Fernandez revealed that she received three designer bags from Gucci and Chanel, two Gucci gym wear outfits, a pair of Louis Vuitton shoes, two pairs of diamond earrings and a bracelet of multi- coloured stones and two Hermes.

Meanwhile, Fernandez appeared before the Patiala House court today for the hearing in the Rs 200 crore money-laundering case. Special Judge Shailendra Malik deferred the matter for December 20 after being told by the counsel appearing for Fernandez that she is yet to receive complete copies of the charge sheet and other documents by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

Fernandez also appeared before the court during the brief hearing. The court had on November 15 granted regular bail to the actress, giving her relief from the arrest.
