Being the largest consumer of whisky in the world, we Indians are known to love our glasses of molten gold. There aren’t any hard and fast rules or right and wrong ways to enjoy your whisky. If it is a drink you savour and enjoy, that is all that counts! However, there are ways we can enhance the underlying notes and flavours of our favourite single malt to get the ultimate drinking experience.

This World Whisky Day, Angad Singh Gandhi, Glenfiddich Brand Ambassador shares with you different ways to make your whisky experience more enjoyable:

    Slurp Straight Up
Drinking whisky neat is probably one of the “purest” ways to enjoy your drink. This way, you get to appreciate the drink's unaltered flavours and aromas

Whisky With A Dash Of Water
Adding a splash of water, opens up the whisky. It releases a rich mix of aromas and accentuates its taste boosting delicate, complex flavours. The amount of water you add is always a personal choice, however too much of dilution can make the whisky loose its essential flavour.

    Experimenting With The Drink
There is a growing trend of creating new and inventive whisky-based cocktails. Highly skilled bartenders are helping fulfil the experience consumers are looking for today and for that they are using the best of whiskies, contributing to the overall demand, preference and liking of the scotch. Therefore, there is lot of room to innovate with your drink. For instance, you can enjoy a whisky highball with a dash of mint during summers or indulge in a dessert cocktail for that warm fuzzy feeling. Try out different flavours and various mixes to find your favourite.

    Magical Food Pairings
Whisky and food are a match made in heaven. Pairing whisky with dark chocolate or pairing it with tea/coffee to create cocktails can enhance the overall notes and flavour of the drink. Your favourite flavour of gelato too can be made all the more enjoyable with flaming whisky or by simply pouring a single malt. These unique pairings can open a world of flavours and aromas, so do not shy away from experimenting and being innovative with your drinks to get the best experience

    Music, Ambience And Good Company
In the end, the best way to enjoy whisky is to share a glass of this elixir with your friends and family and some good music to make the experience better and a memorable one!
