Saraogi feels the satisfaction of a physical shopping experience can never match up to online shopping.
Ravi Saraogi, co-founder and President of Asia Pacific, Uniphore, is currently based out of Singapore, but looking forward to being able to travel and meet family in India.

    Alpine workcation
“Travel is definitely on top of my agenda. I am currently located in Singapore, while my family live in India. My first stop will be in India, where I want to spend some quality time with family. From there I look forward to an extended workcation for about two months - in the beautiful Alps or a mystic Greek village. I plan to rent a home to work from, while enjoying the culture, local cuisines and the countryside.”

    Mountains over beaches
I prefer travelling in a group, be it with family or friends. I look forward to visiting a hill station – either Kodaikanal or Nainital, during my next trip to India. My first two international destination choices are Switzerland and Greece, with New Zealand being a close third. All three countries are naturally stunning and offer unparalleled experiences.

    ‘Champi’
I enjoy treating myself to spa treatments, something I have missed during the lockdown. I honestly would not mind fitting one in sometime soon. Having said that, nothing beats a traditional Indian salon head massage or ‘Champi’, as some call it. It is stimulating and something I look forward just to unwind and relax.

    Guwahati grub
“Staying in Singapore is a blessing where one can visit multiple restaurants and try out different cuisines. I am quite a foodie, and the place being a food paradise, I plan to venture out once it is safe. That being said, I miss the local Assamese food immensely. There is nothing like the local grub from Guwahati – be it the Mughlai Thali, Parampara Thali, Fish Curry, Szechwan Momos, Spicy Chicken Chow to name a few. I do miss the local Tamilian food as well, given I spent close to a decade in Chennai.”

    Retail therapy
“Online shopping is a craze these days, and I see many people ordering almost everything from various e-commerce platforms. The satisfaction of a physical shopping experience can never match up to online shopping for me. Visiting a store, trying out clothes, shoes, sunglasses, or watches has a different feel altogether. I want to expand my current shoe collection and add some good formal and sports footwear to my assortment.”

    Home office
“Remote working or working outside the traditional workplace is gaining popularity. A host of interactive resources be it online conferencing, e-mails, mobile communication apps, and virtual event platforms have seen a steep rise in demand since the onset of the pandemic. During the lockdown, I bought a couple of wireless headsets, a large work screen, a tripod for video recording, a UV Sanitizer and an additional WIFI connection. These purchases were an absolute necessity for me.”

    Food and fitness
“Being a foodie, I have always loved cooking, and the lockdown was an opportunity in disguise to hone and experiment with my cooking skills. YouTube and other online video platforms continue to play an important role in my culinary experiments. I also bought an air fryer to “healthifry” delicacies at home.

“When it comes to outdoor activities, well, I have rekindled my passion for badminton since my college days. I practice cricket regularly at the local cricket nets, and I bought a bicycle for evening rides around the city. These activities ensure I have fun, stay fit, and spend quality time with my son and wife.

“More than exercises, I love to engage in a sport or outdoor activities to remain fit. I have made it a routine during this lockdown to go for regular cycle rides, play badminton twice a week, and swim over the weekends. Being fit is not only about working your body but also being mindful of your mental being. I take the time to ensure I de-stress and come back fresh to my workday.”
