    Story outline

    • Dhanush is playing an assassin in 'The Gray Man'
    • The actor is currently promoting the film in the US
    • The film is helmed by film-maker duo the Russo Brothers
    • It will have a limited theatrical release on July 15
After winning over Bollywood, southern superstar Dhanush is all set to woo Hollywood. The ‘Maari’ actor is currently in the US promoting his upcoming film ‘The Gray Man’ helmed by acclaimed filmmaker-duo the Russo Brothers.

It was a rare occasion for a South Indian actor to be on stage to entertain his co-stars and viewers. It is worth noting that seated next to him on the stage were his co-stars such as Chris Evans, Ryan Gosling, Ana de Armas, and Regé-Jean Page.

In a video, that is now viral, Dhanush is seen explaining how he got the part in ‘The Gray Man’. The 38-year-old in his unassuming manner quipped, ‘I don’t know how I ended up in this film.” His nonchalant way and words led his co-stars including Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans and the audience into bouts of laughter.
The actor and his colleagues were at a press conference in Los Angeles after the screening of the film. Dhanush said that he was very excited and thrilled to get the opportunity and hoped that he did well in the film.

In ‘The Gray Man’ Dhanush is reportedly playing an assassin with bare minimum lines. Earlier this year, the Russo brothers heaped praise on Dhanush saying that they were his big fans. The director-duo also hinted at the possibility of them uniting with the ‘Atrangi Re’ actor for a future project.
In December 2020, after bagging the part Dhanush in a statement said, “Elated to announce that I will be joining the team of Netflix’s The Gray Man starring Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans, directed by The Russo Brothers."

'The Gray Man' also stars Jessica Henwick, Wagner Moura, Julia Butters, Alfre Woodard, and Billy Bob Thornton. Reportedly, the film will have a limited theatrical release on July 15 and it will be released on Netflix on July 22.
