    Hot Air Ballooning

    When: November 14 - 16, 2015 Where: Agra

    - To boost adventure tourism and aviation based entertainment in the state, Department of Tourism, Government of Uttar Pradesh in association with Sky Waltz will be hosting Taj Balloon Festival in Agra. The festival will feature 15 balloons from across countries like the United Kingdom; the United States of America, Spain and Germany, amongst others. Expert balloonists will be displaying their skills as the skyline of the ‘Taj' city Agra will be dotted with colourful balloons. Regarded as one of the safest form of aviation sport, Hot Air Ballooning has been gaining prominence across the world. Speaking about TAJ Balloon Festival, Shri. Amrit Abhijat, Secretary & Director General, Tourism of Uttar Pradesh, said, “Uttar Pradesh is the unique state that provides various adventure sport related activities to tourists. While white water rafting, trekking, mountaineering are popular, we are now introducing Hot Air Ballooning as the latest aviation and adventure sport for the discerning tourists. This Festival is the first step towards creating a world class ballooning centre in the state of Uttar Pradesh.”

    Sonepur Mela

    When: Nov 25, 2015 Where: Bihar

    - Sonepur situated on the confluence of the holy rivers Ganga and Gandak, has the reverence of a blessed ground and lasts for a fortnight. In ancient times the Royal Rajahs and Nawabs used to camp here. The Sonepur Fair has unique and historical importance. A bath at the confluence and a visit to the Hariharnath Temple here is the aim for thousands of devotees on the Kartika Purnima day. The sprawling mela ground with the pulsating market has the widest possible range of cattle and commodities. The array of shops sells all sorts of merchandise. Sonepur Fair is the only one of its kind where a large number of elephants are sold. These are purchased mainly by forest departments and people involved with logging operations. Apart from elephants, a large number of cattle and horses are also brought to the fair for sale. Various folk shows, games and jugglers can be seen in the fair.

    Lucknow Mahotsav

    When: Nov 25 - Dec 5, 2015 Where: Regional Park, Ashiyana, Lucknow

    - Lucknow Mahotsava is organised every year in the month of November / December to showcase the rich cultural heritage of Lucknow. This year Famous artistes like Chhannulal Mishra, Javed Ali, Sunidhi Chauhan, Malini Awasthi, Prahlad Tipanya would gracing the Mahotsav. Mahotsav provides an opportunity to hundreds of awarded artisans from more than 20 states of India to display their exquisite handicrafts. The Mahotsav also provides a platform to upcoming talented artistes and venue for sportsmen to revive traditional sports and events like Kite competition, Ekka Tinga race, Vintage Car rally, etc.
