I want to start a Systematic Withdrawal Plan (SWP) of Rs 25,000 per month from 01.01.2019. How much do I need to invest on 01.01.2018 (for 12 months) base period and in which funds?

Apoorva Vora, CEO, Finolutions Wealthcare responds:

Base period of 12 months is only half the information. How long you want the SWP to continue is very important and is most critical part of the question. What is clear is that with a base period of just 12 months, it is not advisable to invest in equity funds. Your ideal investment will be a debt fund with a shorter maturity profile. However, you need to have (and share) your objective and tenure for SWP. A visit to a financial planner will help.
