Around 62% of new chief executives appointed by India Inc in 2019 were internally promoted candidates, says a CEO mapping exercise conducted exclusively for ET by executive search firm EMA Partners.
The survey mapped 264 companies across industrials, consumer (including FMCG and durables), pharma and healthcare, TMT (technology, media and telecom), banking, financial services and insurance (BFSI) and services (including airlines, hospitality, business services).
It tracked CEO movements in the BSE 250 companies as per market cap (including public sector units and banks), and also included top 10 organisations across these sectors.
