Defence minister Rajnath Singh said after the 2024 general elections, the Congress would become extinct like dinosaurs.

Singh held two public meetings in UP - in Lakhimpur Kheri and Etawah.

He also invoked the statement of Sam Pitroda, chairman of the Indian Overseas Congress about inheritance tax. "What do they want to do? You must eradicate India's poverty, unemployment and terrorism but you are saying if a family's head passes away, in 100 paise 55 paise will go to the government's coffers and the family will be left with 45 paise? Where do they want to take the country," Singh said.
