17 year old Sikh student assaulted in Canada; India strongly calls for prompt action

A student of India, who is 17 years old and is a Sikh, has been assaulted & pepper sprayed at a bus stop in Canada. While the Indian embassy and Indians in Canada have repeatedly expressed their concern over rising hate crimes rising in the country, the government and authorities have done very less to assure further safety of Indians there. The crimes against people of colour are age-old atrocities that has been affecting lives, many end up hurt mentally and physically over the assault that they face.
