Active Covid cases in India fall to 4,709

According to data released by the Union Health Ministry on May 29, India recorded 310 fresh Covid infection cases in the past 24 hours.

Active cases in the country fell to 4,709 from 4,972, the data showed.

The death toll rose to 5,31,866 with two latest deaths reported. The total case tally was recorded at 4.49 crore (4,49,90,054).

Active cases now account for 0.01 per cent of the total infections in the country.

The national COVID-19 recovery rate was recorded at 98.80 per cent, the ministry said. The latest case fatality rate stood at at 1.18 per cent.

As per the latest data, 4,44,53,479 people have recuperated from the disease.

As many as 220.66 crore doses of Covid vaccine have been administered in the country so far, the ministry website showed.
