    With mild to moderate rains and a cool breeze in some areas of the city, Delhi had a much-needed break from the scorching heat on Friday. The city saw its highest level of rainfall since March 3, providing some much-needed respite from the sweltering heat.

    The highest temperature at Safdarjung was 40.4 degrees Celsius, two degrees above average, despite the rain. The temperature has now exceeded 40 degrees Celsius for 39 days in a row. The increased humidity following the rain caused the heat index, or feel-like temperature, to jump to 53 degrees Celsius.

There was also variable rainfall in other places like Pusa, Ridge, Lodhi Road, Jafarpur, Palam, and Ayanagar.
