Who is Rishi Sunak, one of the frontrunners for the UK’s top job
Aarin Capital chairman TV Mohandas Pai said Rishi Sunak will make a very good Prime Minister for the UK after the former Chancellor of the Exchequer announced his bid for the top post. Sunak was among the first to quit Boris Johnson’s government.

“Highly educated, widely travelled he understands fully what the UK needs to do in a post Brexit digital world,” said Pai, who is also the former director at Infosys, the technology giant founded by Sunak’s father-in-law NR Narayana Murthy in Bengaluru. “As a young idealistic political leader, he fully understands the needs of the future and young British citizens,” he added.

With Sunak, a politician with deep understanding of the global economy at the helm, the UK can look forward to rebuilding its economy, said Prashanth Prakash, partner at the venture capital firm Accel. “For India, it will be good to see an Indian-origin politician as the British PM. There will be renewed optimism for building stronger and closer ties between the two countries,” he added.
