    Chef Si King to open first restaurant in Sunderland, England

    British television chef Si King announced the opening of his first restaurant in the port city of England, Sunderland. It is in the north-eastern part of England.

    Si King, who is natively from Kibblesworth near Birtley, has purchased space in Sunderland's Sheepfolds Development to open his first restaurant. The area bought by Si King is a Grade II former stable. There are official announcements that this restaurant will be ready and open by the summer of 2023.

    The celebrity chef has a pre-decided menu for this new venture. The menu is quite interesting as the chef plans to offer various flavours from across the globe. Additionally, there will be space for independent producers called "pop-ups".

    Si King says that Sunderland is one of the transforming cities of England, and this is also a place that has a lot of local produce. There is a seashore and plenty of fresh fishes to catch and vegetation.

    King says as his team behind the restaurant belong to Sunderland, they want the best for it.



    The planning permission for the Sheepfolds development was given in May in order to rejuvenate Sunderland's waterfront.

    The work is being done by firm BDN. It had also restored Old Simpson Street School lately. BDN's managing director Rick Marsden says he is pleased to welcome the Si King to their venue. And this will bring a fantastic element to the city of Sunderland as people will be able to enjoy the delicacies.
