Shane MacGowan of 'Pogues' appeared for event in wheelchairAgencies
Irish singer Shane MacGowan appeared in a wheelchair for an event, wine glass in hand, and still has a fan following for his work with the iconic 'Pogues' band. The Irishman was a singer and songwriter for the band called “Pogues” and became wheelchair-bound after a nasty fall in 2015, which left his pelvis broken. He has been having problems with his mobility ever since and has to stay at a hospital under the constant watch of caregivers. He had to fight his addiction to drugs and alcohol, which created many physical problems for him. The singer, now 64, had been a member of the “Pogues” for nine years. He came wearing a black suit with sunglasses at the Park Café in Dublin. The event was the release of his artwork and book launch, "The Eternal Buzz and The Crock of Gold."

His wife, Victoria Mary Clarke, took care of storing MacGowan's drawings, lyrics, and essays for many years and brought them all together in a book. She was 17 when they met in a pub in London so many years ago. The couple married in 2018, although they have been together for 36 years, helping him battle his drink and drug problem.

Shane MacGowan is passionate about art, as he cannot perform music. The singer's sense of humour was displayed when he referred to the book as his "dirty laundry."
