United Nations of Cinema: Films that will Compete for the International Feature Oscar

Only 87 films were submitted for this year's Academy Award for best foreign feature. That's less than the record-setting number of films that were submitted every year for the past few years.

Here is the full list of foreign films that have been submitted for the 96th Academy Awards, until the Academy confirms which ones are eligible. The 15-title shortlist is set to come out on December 21, before the nominations are announced on January 23 and the event takes place on March 10.

It's unclear whether this is an instant reaction to the Academy's rule change requiring at least 50% of every national selection committee to be made up of "artists and or crafts people from the field of motion pictures." The big names are still in the running, though, until the Academy confirms which movies are eligible.
