    Nearly 2000 people are expected to attend the coronation of King Charles III including royals, dignitaries, and stars from across the world.

    While people are excited to witness the ceremony, many are looking forward to retail therapy to relax. But the question is, will the shops be open on King’s Coronation Day?

    According to reports, the shops which remain open on Saturday will be open on the King’s Coronation Day and the bank holiday. This is because, unlike Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral last year, there is no obligation to close the shops during the ceremony.

    Which shops will remain open on Coronation Day?
    Many shopkeepers may choose to shut their stores to provide their staff the opportunity to celebrate the coronation. There may be some reduced service on May 6, the day of King Charles III's coronation. Many shops may even operate under different opening and closing times.

    However, reports suggest that grocery stores will be open as normal, with many opening between 7 am and 8 am and then closing at 8 pm.

    Most pharmacies will also remain open across the country. So if you have to run errands or plan any business, you should check with the shopkeepers ahead of time.

    Reports also suggest that apparel stores such as Primark and Next will be open if you want to check the summer collection. Fast food outlets and cafes will be open and many will be offering huge discounts to celebrate the Coronation.
