    Legendary Indian actor Rajinikanth took to Twitter to praise the two Indian films – RRR and The Elephant Whisperers after the news of Oscar-winning Indian films spread on social media.

    He wrote, "My hearty congratulations to Shri. Keeravani, Shri. Rajamouli and Shri. Kartiki Gonsalves for getting the prestigious Oscar Award. I salute to the proud Indians."

    RRR won in the Best Original Song category, making it the first Indian film to do so, while The Elephant Whisperers won Best Documentary Short.



    RRR, directed by SS Rajamouli and written by Vijayendra Prasad, tells a fictional story based on the lives of two Telugu revolutionaries, Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. The film features Ram Charan and Jr NTR in the lead roles, along with Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Ray Stevenson, and Olivia Morris in supporting roles. MM Keeravaani helmed the music composition.

    The RRR's director SS Rajamouli, music composer MM Keeravaani, and The Elephant Whisperer’s director Kartiki Gonsalves were among those who received congratulations from Rajinikanth and others. The Elephant Whisperers highlights the importance of conservation efforts for elephants and the work done by a group of people to protect them. The film's director and producer, Patricia Sims, dedicated the award to the elephants and their guardians, saying that they deserve recognition and protection.
