Differences with Arvind Kejriwal a 'thing of the past': Kiran Bedi

    Synopsis

Kiran Bedi today sought to downplay her differences with Kejriwal over the issue of overcharging her hosts, saying it was a "thing of past".

NEW DELHI: Amid reported rift among Team Anna members, activist Kiran Bedi today sought to downplay her differences with colleague Arvind Kejriwal over the issue of overcharging her hosts, saying it was a "thing of past".

"That issue is a thing of the past, we need to talk about the present and the future. We need to move towards the future as there is a need to remove corruption from the system," Bedi told reporters here.

Kejriwal had earlier disapproved of Bedi overcharging her hosts by inflating travel bills and had said she was wrong in doing so in an interview to a televison channel. He also said he would not have done what Bedi had done.

Bedi had later hit out at Kejriwal for his remarks and said he had not understood the matter fully.

Reacting to reports that the Parliamentary Standing Committee is likely to recommend bringing Group 'B' officers under the purview of Lokpal, Bedi said the bill will be incomplete if officials of Group 'C' and 'D' are not included.

"Lokpal is for extortionist corruption and not for collusive corruption. Anna Hazare's demand was to include all public officials from minister to peon under the bill," she said.
