MUMBAI: A general alert may have been sounded here following Thursday’s intelligence input but officials say they have specific information on four LeT terrorists having sneaked into the city. They have two targets: a well-known Byculla church and a busy Bandra drinking hole.

Mumbai police received a tip-off from the Assam Special Police that four LeT terrorists had sneaked into Mumbai and were planning a major attack in the Christmas-New Year period. Police identified the four Pakistani LeT members as Abdul Karim Moosa, Noor Elahi, Waleed Jinnah and Mahfoos Alam but were able to release only one sketch (that of Jinnah).

JCP (crime) Himanshu Roy on Thursday said the police had started two dedicated phone lines at the main police control room where the public could pass on information if they saw anyone resembling the suspect. Senior police officers on Friday changed their line of investigation and follow-up action.
