    Politically incorrect

    Synopsis

Netas are favourite targets of cartoonists and exaggerated caricatures of politicians never fail to make us laugh. And netas' is a tribe that lends itself easily to be poked about and laughed at, considering the bloopers they make and blunders they commit. A truly realised soul, or at least a nearly-realised soul, will find mirth in almost everything; hence the hint of a smile that always plays on their lips. Life itself is like a joke, an illusion, and nothing is not funny. Hence, sages say, there is no difference between a sage and a madman, for both seem to break into laughter for no apparent reason. Neither take themselves seriously.

Yeah, yeah, one has to be politically correct, but, sometimes, it is just so much fun to not be so. Like the joke I recently received as a forward, showing a woman being interviewed for a job. The interviewer, a male, says, 'We want someone who can do the work of six men,' to which the woman candidate responds with a raised eyebrow, 'Oh? I was looking for a full-time job, sorry.' And she walks off. That tickled me no end, though of course it is not a polite joke for the male gender.

One cannot be politically correct all the time; life then becomes utterly boring and predictable. A bit of rebellion, some sarcasm and dark clowning, these really add spice to life so long as you are not making fun of race, ethnicity, colour, disability, religion and so on. And so long as you do not laugh at someone who is less privileged than you are.
