The company, which has now raised a total of $9 million, will use the fresh funding to expand its offerings for business-to-business clients and hire more staff to cater to potential incoming demand, co-founder Ramakant Vempati said.
Wysa is an app that offers mental health support through its eponymous free AI chatbot, as well as self-help resources on the app and paid access to therapists. The company caters to the "missing middle" in the mental health space, Vempati said, and straddles its offerings between the two extremes of those needing serious clinical psychiatric help and those who need only wellness or meditation or other such offerings.
The company claims to have 3.5 million sign-ups so far on its app. It also has healthcare providers, corporates and insurance companies as B2B clients.
