Jammu and Kashmir terror attack: Injured tourist couple's condition improves, say officials
Tourist couple Tabrez and Farah Khan injured in a terrorist firing in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam area are now stable and showing signs of improvement while undergoing treatment at the Army's 92 Base Hospital. Farah sustained a shoulder injury and Tabrez faced more serious injuries to his face. The attack was made by motorcycle-borne terrorists.
Parties in chorus to criticise killing of J&K ex-sarpach
Locals claim that four attackers had come to Sheik's house and two of them barged inside and opened fire at Sheikh who has been a vocal advocate of BJP's policies in Kashmir. Kashmir gets some respite from cold wave conditions
Pahalgam tourist resort in south Kashmir, which serves as the base camp for the annual Amarnath yatra, recorded a low of minus 8.6 degrees Celsius. Pahalgam was the coldest recorded place in the valley last night. Kokernag and Qazigund towns in south Kashmir recorded a low of minus 3.7 degrees Celsius and minus 5.8 degrees Celsius respectively, the officials said

Over 7,000 perform Amarnath Yatra on 28th day, total crosses 3.77 lakhs
Over 7,000 pilgrims had darshan at the Amarnath cave shrine on the 28th day of the Yatra, despite inclement weather along the twin routes. Since the Yatra began on July 1, over 3.77 lakh people have taken part. Another 2,050 pilgrims were escorted on Saturday, with 36 pilgrims dying during the Yatra so far. The shrine houses an ice stalagmite structure that symbolises Lord Shiva, and pilgrims travel uphill to reach it, either from the Pahalgam or the Baltal base camps. The Amarnath Yatra ends on August 31.
22nd batch of over 3,800 Amarnath pilgrims leave Jammu for cave shrine
More than 3.25 lakh pilgrims have so far paid obeisance at the cave shrine located at a height of 3,888 metres since the commencement of the annual pilgrimage from the twin tracks of Pahalgam in Anantnag and Baltal in Ganderbal districts on July 1.
