Let it sleep peacefully now but hope is there, says ISRO Chairman on Pragyan rover

The rover Pragyan from Chandrayaan-3 mission has fallen asleep on the lunar surface, according to ISRO chairman S Somnath. Although the chances of it waking up are uncertain, the space agency is aware of the risks involved. The objective of the mission, which achieved a soft landing near the lunar south pole, has been accomplished, with all the required data collected.

Chandrayaan's Vikram happily sleeping, it will wake up if it wishes, until then, we will wait: Isro chief

Following the success of the Chandrayaan-3 mission, ISRO reveals plans for exploration missions to Mars, Venus, and a return to the Moon. The space agency also emphasizes its commitment to scientific missions, including studying Earth's climate and weather conditions. The TV-D1 test flight for the Gaganyaan program is scheduled for October 21.

Chandrayaan-3's lunar innings end as Vikram and Pragyan stay stumped

India's lunar mission, Chandrayaan-3, has suffered a setback as the lander and rover have not reawakened after their soft landing on the Moon's surface in August. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) remains hopeful that they may reestablish contact, as even a brief reconnection would allow for further experiments. The mission has already collected valuable data, including the detection of sulfur and temperature measurements, as well as insights into lunar soil properties.

ISRO chief S Somanath unfazed by Moon mission's apparent end

Despite the hopes of reestablishing contact with India's Moon rover, the country's space agency is satisfied with the mission's success. The rover, named Pragyan, explored the Moon's surface before being powered down for the lunar night. The Indian Space Research Agency had hoped to reactivate the rover, but so far, no signals have been received. India's space program has been steadily growing and has achieved milestones at a fraction of the cost of other space powers.

Pragyan rover has done what it was expected to do: ISRO chief

The Chairman of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has stated that the Pragyan rover of the Chandrayaan-3 moon mission has fulfilled its expected objectives and it would not be a problem if it fails to wake up from its current sleep mode. The ISRO is now preparing for the launch of the XPoSat or X-ray Polarimeter Satellite, which may take place in November or December.

"Revival of Vikram, Pragyan automatic": ISRO scientist on waking up Chandrayaan-3

ISRO is attempting to revive the Chandrayaan-3's Vikram lander and rover, which have been in sleep mode for almost two weeks. Nilesh M Desai, Director of the Space Applications Centre, stated that the revival of the lander and rover is automatic and dependent on solar power. So far, no signals have been received, but efforts to establish contact are ongoing.
