      The Rail Coach Factory (RCF) in Punjab is set to release the first prototype of the Vande Metro coach for intercity travel by April 2021. Each coach will have 16 air-conditioned coaches and can run at a maximum speed of 130 km per hour.

The Vande Bharat Express, India's semi-high-speed train, was first introduced in 2019 and has since become popular for its modern amenities and reduced travel time.
