RSS' 4-day meet begins today, to discuss NEP, population
Addressing a press conference ahead of the meeting, RSS prachar pramukh head Sunil Ambekar said the meeting will discuss the points raised by RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat in his annual address on vijayadashami. Bhagwat had flagged the need for a population policy that takes into account "stabilising population growth" .

He was delivering his annual Vijayadashami speech outlining the RSS' vision for the coming year, and comes close on the heels of his meeting with intellectuals from the Muslim community. Samaj and rashtriyata should be our only interests."

“The Sangh has already passed a proposal keeping an eye on the future of the nation in the next 50 years. This nation needs a policy for a longer period for population control. We advocate a national population control policy,” RSS joint general secretary Manmohan Vaidya said at a press conference on Monday.

"We feel that in gated communities, families often living away from their relatives feel the need for more engagement. They lead isolated lives. We started an experimental initiative some years ago. We had IT milans (get-togethers). Now, we want to expand that, hold monthly and weekly shakhas," an RSS functionary said.
