    IMD issues red alert for Uttarakhand as heavy rainfall predicted for August 13-14

    The Indian Meteorological Department issued a red alert for Uttarakhand on August 13 and 14 due to the expected heavy to very heavy rainfall, which could reach extremely heavy levels. The heavy rainfall has caused waterlogging and flooding, disrupting normal life in many districts of the state. The recent landslide at Tarsali buried a car with five pilgrims traveling to Kedarnath, killing them. Officials said that about 60 meters of the Guptkashi-Gaurikund highway leading to Kedarnath Dham has been badly damaged and washed away.

    Five pilgrims killed as landslide debris falls on car in Uttarakhand's Rudraprayag

    Five people, including a resident of Gujarat, were killed in a landslide in Uttarakhand's Rudraprayag district on Thursday evening. The victims were travelling to Kedarnath when their car was buried under debris. A portion of the Kedarnathgya highway collapsed due to heavy debris on the roads, which led to a traffic obstruction on the Guptkashi-Gaurikund highway.

    Uttarakhand: 3 dead, 17 missing in Rudraprayag landslide

    Three people have died and 17 people are missing following a landslide in the Rudraprayag district in Uttarakhand. Two roadside shops and dhabas were washed away when the heavy debris came down from the mountain. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) is working to locate those missing. In addition, Uttarakhand's Uttarkashi area is experiencing issues with falling debris, and a 60-metre section of highway has caved in near the forest department office at Lisa Depot.
