    According to the Land Acquisition and Rehabilitation Act, 2013, the preliminary notification under section 11(1) is required to be issued within one year from the date of submission of recommendations by the expert committee on the social impact assessment report. The expert committee submitted its recommendations on August 22, 2023. According to it, the preliminary notification of land acquisition can be issued in August 2024 itself.

    Sabarimala: Railways to run Vande Bharat, other Sabari special trains to clear rush, reservation starts

    Southern Railway has announced special trains and a Vande Bharat Express to accommodate the increased number of pilgrims traveling to the Sabarimala temple. The train numbered 06151, MGR Chennai Central-Kottayam Vande Bharat special, will depart from MGR Chennai Central at 8.30am and reach Kottayam at 7.20pm on the same day. This special train will be available on December 15, 17, 22, and 24. Similarly, the train numbered 06152, Kottayam-Chennai Central Vande Bharat special, will depart from Kottayam at 9pm and reach Chennai at 9.30am the next day.
