    Father stabs 23-yr-old techie son during domestic dispute in Bengaluru

    Basavaraju, who works as a driver of a mini goods vehicle, is originally from Huliyurdurga in Kunigal taluk, Tumakuru. Preliminary investigations by the police revealed that the incident occurred around 9:30 am in their first-floor house. Basavaraju and his wife, Bhagyalakshmi, often quarreled over taking care of Basavaraju's 75-year-old bedridden mother and other minor issues.

    Karnataka: Bengaluru infra gets attention from new Congress government

    In the budget for fiscal 2023-24, CM Siddaramaiah allocated Rs 273 crore towards developing 83 km of high-density corridors. Out of the state's share for the Bengaluru Suburban Rail Project, the government plans to release Rs 1,000 crore this year.     Karnataka Budget: Govt proposes two separate Metro rail projects worth Rs 31,328 Cr in Bengaluru

    Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has proposed two Metro rail projects in Bengaluru at a cost of INR31,328 crore. One of the projects encompasses a total length of 45 km running from Kempapura to JP Nagar Fourth Phase and from Hosahalli to Kadabagere. The second proposal is for a new 37 km Metro line from Hebbal to Sarjapura at a cost of approx. INR15,000 crore.

    Drive against encroachments in Bengaluru will go on: Minister

    "An anti-encroachment drive should be continuous or else illegal occupation will come up again. There will be no discrimination between the poor, middle-class and rich people in this drive," Revenue Minister R Ashoka told reporters in Mysuru.
