    Gangster Chhota Shakeel's brother-in-law, Arif Abubakar Shaikh dies of heart attack in Mumbai hospital

    Arif Abubakar Shaikh, known as Arif Bhaijaan, passed away at Mumbai's J J Hospital. He was the brother-in-law of fugitive gangster Chhota Shakeel and was accused in a terror-funding case involving the Dawood gang. Shaikh, a businessman, was arrested by the NIA in May 2023 and was undergoing treatment at the hospital when he died. The NIA had attached his property in Thane district in July 2023. Shaikh and his brother were accused of extorting money for terrorist activities and collaborating with international terrorist organizations.

    Dawood Ibrahim Kaskar is among the most wanted criminals in India for being one of the masterminds behind the 1993 Mumbai blasts. He has been designated a global terrorist by the United Nation. He runs an international terrorist network, named D-Company, with his associates like Anees Ibrahim Shaikh, Chhota Shakeel, Javed Chikhna and Tiger Memon.

    NIA case against Dawood Ibrahim, aides: Key accused's house attached under UAPA as 'proceeds of terrorism'

    The Thane house of a man held by the National Investigation Agency in a 2022 case involving fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim and his aides has been attached as "proceeds of crime", an official said on Monday. The house of Arif Abubakar Shaikh alias Arif Bhaijaan, a key accused held in the case registered by NIA on February 3 last year, is located in Mangal Nagar in Mira Road in the neighbouring district, a statement from the Central probe agency said.

    NIA files charge sheet against Dawood, Chhota Shakeel in terror funding case

    The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Saturday filed a charge sheet against fugitive underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, his close aide Chhota Shakeel and three other members of 'D-Company' in connection with its probe into raising funds to carry out terrorist activities in Mumbai and other parts of India.

    25 lakh for information on Dawood, 20 lakh for Shakeel: NIA

    The development comes at a time when a Financial Action Task Force team is in Pakistan to undertake onsite inspection over removal of the country from the 'grey list', which signifies increased monitoring over progress on measures related to curbing money laundering and terrorism financing.

    NIA announces Rs 25 lakh reward on fugitive gangster Dawood Ibrahim

    The probe agency has also announced a cash reward of Rs 20 lakh on Ibrahim's close aide Shakeel Shaikh alias Chhota Shakeel, and Rs 15 lakh each on associates Haji Anees alias Anees Ibrahim Shaikh, Javed Patel alias Javed Chikna and Ibrahim Mushtaq Abdul Razzak Memon alias Tiger Memon, an official said.
