Uttarakhand CM Dhami withdraws decision of daily cap on Char Dham pilgrims
The chief minister has decided to withdraw the decision to put a daily cap on the number of pilgrims visiting the temples, an order issued by Additional Chief Secretary Radha Raturi said. However, the system of online and offline registration for pilgrims coming on the yatra remains unchanged as it helps in tracking them, the order said.

Uttarakhand Polls: BJP shows preference for Congress defectors in first list
According to the list released on Thursday, the party has not only chosen to field leaders who revolted against the Harish Rawat government in 2016, but also those who defected to its camp over mere past few days. Such leaders include former Pradesh Mahila Congress president Sarita Arya and Durgeshwar Lal, who had joined the party on Thursday just a few hours before it announced its first list of candidates.

"Harak was also eyeing the Lansdowne seat to field his daughter-in-law Anukriti Gosain as BJP nominee. BJP has its sitting MLA from the same Lansdowne seat. The party was not ready to give a ticket to his daughter-in-law," said a source in the BJP.
